mum and dad really enjoyed their fortnight in Akyaka. They said it was really different to any of their other Turkey holidays and felt it was more traditional than any of the other places they have visited.
They stayed in the Idyma Hotel and for the first week were the only guests there!! It was a homely ," quirky" place but after looking around at others felt they were really pleased they had been recommended it ( Thanks Ellie-meg)
The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly even though they couldn't speak a word of English they had great fun miming to each other as my parents aren't to hot on their Turkish either. It took them the whole two weeks to try to let them know they wanted to pay for their transfers and the staff thought they wanted to order a taxi at every attempt.
They said they enjoyed the food in the village and because they were at the top of the village spent quite a bit of time up there watching village life go on and meeting the locals.
The weather on the whole was good although they experienced the dreaded storm spoken about on here by other ht members I think they quite enjoyed the excitment generated by that too.
It was very quiet but they thoroughly enjoyed their holiday and want to go back with friends.

thanks for the update mel and im so pleased they enjoyed akyaka, did they try the kristol restaurant for a meal, such lovely food and excellent prices, will they stay at the idyma again or try a different hotel ?, it has such beautiful surroundings, we also found the staff really friendly when we used their pool occasionally, we are going to akyaka in july for 3 weeks next year, we love it so much
Thanks again for your help, my turn next, Mel.
