The Goa to Manchester flight that should have left this morning has been delayed by AT LEAST 22 hrs, and yes you've guessed it's a Monarch Flight!! Luckily for the passengers they found out before getting to the airport so have had an extra day in resort. I feel sorry for those at the other end losing a day of their holiday.......any HT'ers on the outward flight??

friends who should have gone on the 1900 monarch flight yesterday eve from manchester have finally got a dp time of 1330 today (28/01). they were put up in a htl @ manchester airport last night.

if they do manage to fly at 1330 today and stopover at bahrain as scheduled (arr Bahrain 2330 GMT) and have usual 50/60 min stopover this would mean that they are likely to arrive at dabolim for say 530am goa time.

Does anyone know what time dabolim opens in a morning for charter flights - I thought it was 0700? a couple of years ago when we got an early flight from Man we arrived at 615 in morning and the plane had to wait on apron at dabolim till it opened between 7 & 7.30 am.

Is this still the case - anybody know?

when we went to Dabolim Airport last Dec the
Airport opened at 06:30, 2 flights landed the same
time so you can imagine what it was like, they can
hardly cope with 1 but 2 !!!! :( :(

thanks aarond for that....been trying to keep our friends posted while they wait at manchester airport to get out. Man airport sites not very good, also been trying to get info from bahrain airport internet site, which is a little bit better.

also got a selfish interest in our friends problems as we will be on the same flight next sat out of man to goa. so lets hope we arent hit by teh same problems.....6 days to go.

I was due on that flight. We arrived at the airport to be told it was cancelled. We never called days before mind you but others were called to be told it was 3 hours late. We managed to get on the Gatwich flight. We were told of the Gatwick flight and did our best to get on it. It wasmy first time flying with Monarch. Once you are in the air i must say i thought they were good. Not bad room and service, meals good. However we were let down by the lack of service from their customer service etc on arival at Gatwick. We were very much told just to claim our insurance! Because we were due at Mancester to fly to Glasgow we had to get a flight with BA to Glasgow who wanted a lot of money even though i had paid for Ma to Glasgow. Agreed it wasn't their fault but they were even asking £120 for a single to Manchester for others in our party. I would now go Emirates who may be a little more expensive but will not cancel as much flights as Monarch. It seems they cancel them easily. We are glad we made the right decision to go to Gatwick as the flight next day was also much later. You are in the frame of mind to go home and even another 2 free days in Goa is not worth thinking of. Was there any otherson this flight? What did you do tc?

our friends finaly arrived in GOA this morning. Sent a message they were ok, hotel nice but they were just tired. They left home on saturday lunch time, not expecting it would take till today to get there. Hope we don't get a repeat preformance this Saturday, this is the last time with Monarch will gladly pay extra for a different airline that doesn't cancel as often.

A reminder of the first post on this thread

I have taken this thread back by popular demand. Please note that this thread is for SPECIFIC questions re flights to and from Goa and also internal flights. It is not here to replace the flights/airlines and airports forum. If you have general questions about the aircraft, inflight info, companies, duty free or UK airports, please post them there Any questions posted on this thread that are not Goa specific will be moved to the Flights forum.I will not leave a link here as it is often useless as posts get merged.
If this causes too many problems or complaints I may have to reconsider. (Please note that other forums do not allow flight questions.) I have an evergrowing list of forums to mod and I don't want to mod a mini flights forum as well!!
Please also note that any Goa flights questions posted outwith this thread will be moved to here.
Lecture over! I hope you find this thread a useful additon to our forum.
Fiona HT mod :fly

We now have an increasing amount of questions here which are not Goa specific. We have this thread only for specific Goa questions and members are not able to access info easily as we now seem to have a mini flights forum. As stated above other forums do not allow any flight queries and this so far is the exception. Possibly members find knowing what to ask here confusing and so we may have to go back to putting all flight queries on the Flight forum. But - one last go! For queries such as Monarch, First Choice or My Travel please go to the flights forum. For queries such as internal flights or whether a particular flight is nonstop, flight prices etc you can use this thread. Future posts which are more appropriate to the Flights forum will be moved there( and this time I mean it  ). If you "lose" your query then go to the "view my posts" feature and you will easily track it down.

I know this should be on the flights thread, but it is just gets lost in their as it is so big. Anyway, can anyone tell me when the last chartered flight to goa is this season?

Sorry in advance for hijacking the board Fiona :P

The last 2 week holiday from Manchester with First Choice goes out on Tuesday 17th April so the last return flight would be around 1st May. From my experience of Kerala last Easter, First Choice tend to stick around longer than the other tour operators.

Hope this helps.
