Thank you all for your help. Don't know what I would do without this forum x
P.S. This was from London
Hi, My wife and I are travelling to Goa on 1st April for the first time and were about to apply for are visa and send it off on Monday. Would you say that this is enough time or should we go and collect them ourselves from London. I've just been reading the posts on this forum and it sounds like visas are coming back quite quickly.
Plenty of time, just remember to send by special delivery and enclose a special self addresses pre-paid for return.
Gail
Don't worry GEC you still have plenty of time I was fully expecting 5 weeks, you will probably get a card through the door on Wednesday mine always comes on Wednesday they seem to know when my PO has half day closing. and they are probably on Goan time
My daughter got hers back from London on Wednesday, they've taken just under 3 weeks. I agree with Alan you'll probably get yours back on Wednesday.
Fingers crossed for you....
AJ
our applications were delivered on 4th jan, were processed on 17th jan and posted on 25th jan and we're going on 24/2.so theres no rhyme nor reason(ours were london)i bet you'll get them soon.

We live in Birmingham but after the hassle of getting them in person last time we are going to send them postal this time. It maybe a daft question but does it make any difference if we send them to London or Birmingham?
Send them to London it's quicker, last year we sent ours to Birmingham & there was a right delay we was lucky that o/h know's someonethat coudchase them up. We were advised that in future to send them to London, we did this & no probs back in 2-3weeks.
Thanks
AJ
Thanks for the info AJ.

got to send off for new visa iv forgotten from last time ive put in a jiffy bag for them to send our passports back to us do i have to put stamps on it ie pay for the post to come back thanks steve
There's a sticky about Visas so I guess Fiona will merge this thread with that.
However, I would suggest you read the application form VERY carefully and do exactly what it says on there to avoid your applications being returned unprocessed.
It tells you to send applications by Special Delivery and to enclose a Special Delivery SAE for return.
You must also put the sender's (yours) name and address on the envelope.

Everton4ever, don't know what the HCI would do if you didn't send the Spec delivery SAE. I would ring them and see if they can check on your application. They can be very particular about details. Good luck.

Help! We are thinking of booking tomorrow to go back to Goa on 25th March, but we need new Visas. Is this enough time to apply for them by post? Or would we need to go to Birmingham (that's our nearest) in person? Any help very much appreciated.
Polly you are so lucky ..we would love to go in April and cant go cus we need visas too .........at least you can jump on a train and go and get one .....here in N/I we have to send away for one to london ....ah well next year I will be sorted .....if we got our visas early they will have run out and then we can apply for new ones .............colleen
Tight I know but if send it in the next day or two and don't make any mistakes, it gives them at least 24 working days the odds are in your favor.
Alan
Thanks Al. Visa forms have just been completed and will be sent to London tomorrow. Fingers crossed that they are back in time, I don't think I will have any finger nails left if they take ages. God why do I do these things it gets so stressful.
