Just thought I'd say that I received my letter today about the building works. I don't have to pay my holiday balance until mid-May so First Choice aren't waiting til they've got your hard earned cash before telling you about the building works after all!
I went there in the opening year and after the fiasco with the place not being ready and FC not informing people, the earlier forum on Pegasus went ballistic. FC admitted to me that they monitored this site and also that the reps looked at it regularly whilst in resort. The rep on the transfer coach actually stood up and asked everbody how many of us had been reading HT. I think therefore that they are right to inform you before you pay to avoid the adverse reaction that happened in the opening year. However, the place is impressive and reading the reviews on here and other sites always seems to get excellent write ups from its visitors. Have a lovely holiday.
We had a really good time and the hotel was stunning, clean and def up together.
Im sure anyone going this year is going to have a cool time.
We read a lot of really bad reports before we went first time and we were kinda dreading it!! But seriously it was ok.
I have some questions..........
What is the latest you can have a late check out room?
First Choice say 6pm which is silly when flights sometimes don't leave till the early hours of the morning!!!
Is it best to book late check out now or wait till you arrive at hotel?
For two families to be near each other is it best to book 2 rooms of the same type or if say 1 family had a kids den and one a Jacuzzi suite can we be near each other or are these rooms in different blocks?
I'm thinking it is best to take sterling money but some lira for tipping do you agree?
I went back through the old Pegasos Palace thread so I have answered some of my questions already but I am sure I will have more!
This if we book will be third time lucky!
Want to have a full body massage any recommendations?
Thanks Kelly

Hi Greenstone were thinking of going in October got a great price for 4 adults 3 children and this is in half term to!
we booked a late check out before we went last time and yes 6pm is the latest, our flight was early hours so we did have a bit of sitting about to do!!!
im not really sure about the seperate blocks for different types of rooms, but one lady told me when i was there last that the jacuzzi suite wasnt anything different to a normal room except the bath (same size as normal) had jets!!
but im really not sure if thats correct, maybe you should check.
we took stirling and euros with us.
as for the massage it was quite pricey at the hotel but apparently there is somewhere out of the hotel now that does it cheaper. im going to find out about this and i will update you.
hope this helps!!
many thanks
For anyone who has been before can you give me some info on the jeep safari trip...thanks
Thanks
hi as far as i can remember ,but i could be wrong, the family rooms twin rooms kids dens etc are located in the 10 blocks on the right of the map in first choice holiday village brochure.
Thanks traceytreacle1, thats but my mind at rest a bit.
we did the jeep safari last year with our 3 year old daughter, and i must say it was by far the best trip we have ever been on, they take you through the outback, you go and see one of the locals houses and have a drink (you have to pay) but very cheap you get very wet dont want to spoil it too much, you also go for dinner and the views are amazing beware if you go swimmimg whilst waiting for your dinner it is ice cold and we went in July!!!
you then go on more outback trails before going back to your hotel
I cant remember how much we paid firstchoice but it was more than the £20 that sarigerme tours charge and we will be booking them when we go back in May.
We also went on the family cruise which was good but nothing to write home about.
hope this helps
i went to pp last august and had already booked a late checkout room but enquired about times the day after i arrived i was able to extend room till 23:00 for an extra charge of around £10 if i remember right but on night of departure my little girl was ill and was able to have room till 01:00 in morning mind you it cost me another £10, so ask when you arrive or within a couple of days after, going again this august
thanks foxy, jeep safari sounds great i think my children will love it.
I got new eclispe holiday brochure and it states even though palace and tropical are now run as two different complex's in the tropical bit of info is that kids can still go into palace and join the swim kids and the stage school . Regards Kaz
oops! Sorry did not mean to post twice !
Still plenty of availability from North East Airports for week schools are offf in May, no free child places but the prices are cheaper than what we paid with a free child place. I wonder if people have started to cancel due to building work!
does make you wonder how come.
we have looked for the first 2 weeks of summer hols 2008 come out at £2500 but now wondering if to wait till nearer the time??
also do you think we could ask for some compensation due to them knowing about the building work when we booked 12 months ago but didn't tell us anything about it?
