Hi Hayley
We had no need for a jacket or even a light cardi in the evenings end of august/beg. sept. It was really hot some nights until the small hours! We had a few days when it was well over 40 degrees during the day so obviously that kept the night temps. up... :D

hi everyone

we go on 9th July for 2 weeks is anyone else there the same time as us?? we are flying from Birmingham, which could be an experience as we usually fly from manchester.
2 adults and 2 boys age 13 and 10.
we had a letter from First choice too and i called them about requesting a room away from the building work and was told they were not able to put a request in to the hotel but the tour operator out there will try and make sure we were placed as far away as they could manage as they do not allocate rooms till 2 weeks before arrival date! so in other words, take what you are given and be happy!!

Would imagine that things have improved no end since our visit, anyone going there will I beleive have a wonderful time especially the children

Less than a fortnight :D

HI EVERYONE,

WE WENT TO THE TROPICAL LAST YEAR IN JULY FOR 2 WEEKS, THE WEATHER WAS FANTASTIC, THE POOLS WERE LOVELY AND WARM. THE WHOLE PLACE WAS FANTASTIC.

THIS YEAR WE ARE STAYING AT THE PALACE, BUT WE DID WANT TO STAY AT THE TROPICAL AGAIN BUT ITS NOW A SEPARATE HOTEL.
HOWEVER, WE WERE TOLD THAT YOU CAN USE THE FACILITIES ON BOTH HOTELS REGARDLESS OF WHICH HOTEL YOU ARE STAYING IN.
EXCEPT THE BARS, RESTAURANTS, AND KIDS CLUB. THATS WHY WE CHOSE THE PALACE CAUSE WE WERENT TOO SURE ABOUT THE KIDS CLUB SITUATION.
BARS AND RESTAURANTS NOT BOTHERED ABOUT, JUST THE KIDS CLUB.

IM SURE THAT EVERYONE WHO STAYS AT THIS RESORT WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME, WE LOVED IT,
NOTHING TO DO, NOTHING AROUND JUST REST AND RELAXATION.

WE ALREADY KNEW ABOUT THE BUILDING WORK, SO NOT BOTHERED, AND FOR HOW LONG YOU SPEND IN YOUR ROOM, NOT BOTHERED BOUT THAT EITHER.

WE ARE GOING ON THE 5TH OF JULY FOR 2 WEEKS, FROM MANCHESTER.

ANYONE ELSE.

DEBBIE X

Hi Kelly and Debbie - we are there at the same time as you.

There are four families in total - 8 adults and 10 kids aged from 8 downwards. We fly from Glasgow on 9th July. Two of the families are there for one week but we (and one other family) are staying for two weeks.

Getting really excited now.

Hi Moreen/Debbie

am so glad to hear there will be someone else there at same time as was getting worried as all the other ones seem to be there in May or Sept.

we will look out for you, although sure we will be able to spot you with the size of your crowd Moreen.

boys are looking forward to activities but are a little dubious about making friends but have told them not to worry as there will be plenty of kids there.

reply to Amandap

i did speak to FC and asked them to mail the hotel but they said there was no point as they could not allocate rooms until 2 weeks prior to arrival and they knew the situation and would try their best to allocate as far away as possible but could not guarantee anything. as have not been there before do not know what rooms are situated in block 4 as this is where the building work is closest to. thing is we only shower, change and sleep in our room so am not really that bothered, and if i fancy an afternoon siesta i may pack some ear plugs but will certainly not be letting it spoil my holiday!

how do we know which hotel we are booked into?
we booked May 06 & all it says on the form is Holiday Village Turkey?
i see now on first choice web site you have the choice of the 2 to book for & one is cheaper than the other?
Reply
If you have booked Holiday Village Turkey, then you will be staying in the Peg palace as the Tropical is no longer part of the Holiday Village.

For those of you who haven't been before, there is a new video of the holiday village on the first choice website.

If you go to the holiday village page

http://www.firstchoice.co.uk/holidayvillage/

and on the right hand side you will see "what our customers thinks" choose "holiday village turkey" and there is a video which you see a good view of some of the pools and the rooms.

Have seen the video Catherine. It does look fab. The pools look great and the place seems clean.

good to get the views of people who have been there too. Which is why this site is so useful.

Just over 9 weeks to go for me :D

anyone know if i'll be able to get milk for my kids bottles from the hotel or is there a shop near by where i can get some? 4 weeks & 2 days can't wait
Reply
There were big containers (looked like tea urn's) in the restaurants that had milk for tea and coffee. I saw people filling up bottles/cups for little one's from them. I'm not sure if the hotel shop sold milk, but only because I didn't need it so I didn't look IYSWIM. There are plenty of shops in the village though and the fridge in your room is plenty big enough to buy a carton and put in there.

there were cartons of milk in the hotel shops but it is long life milk

Can anyone remember if there was a kettle in the rooms?
