candia park is a nice hotel (according to my opinion) which is located at the end of agios nikolaos.
its been build in a small hill and it goes all the way down to the sea.
looks like a small village in a way (i have heard its a copy of an actual spanish village).
dont remember the distance from candia to agios, but i think its not a good idea to walk. taxi is needed 100%. elounda is about 6-7klm away.
bars taverna etc can be found in the area but its not that close.
its more family orientated hotel and from what i understand you can almost have everything in there without the need to go out for eating or drinking.
if you go for it, consider that a taxi or car will be needed for moving out of the hotel

My family and i went to the Helios apartments across the road from candia and my curiosity made me go and have a look it looks really nice, it is 4 km from ag nik so if you gonna walk get up early and go before the sun gets high, i loved ag nik hoping to go back next year it is my favorite place, there a few restraunts a short walk away and the further you go towards ag nik the more there are, you must go down to ag nik and eat at one of the many places there they are all set round the harbour and it is so nice there, hope i have helped have a great time
