You might wnat to clarify with Globespan what you are actually getting for your money
Flyglobespan do seem to be attracting a fair bit of adverse comment locally at the moment, due to some serious delays, some transatlantic flights being combined and having to stop off at other UK or Irish airports, passengers having to sleep overnight on the floor of a Canadian airport terminal when the crew went out of hours, and flights to Toronto in fact operating to Hamilton Ontario.
David you have really got me worried now
Yes they have had a bad week with delays, all back on track now, apart from the odd 30mins.
The orlando is advertised on the website 1 flight a week goes via belfast.
The hamilton flights have always been advertised as that, they stopped toronto pearson at the end of april. It also states that from stn it goes via a regional airport.
The passengers on that vancouver flight didnt sleep on the airport floor they were abusing the crew before they were taken to a hotel.
Yes i agree things got of too a shaky summer season, but hopefully they are back on track and will have a successful summer.
It,s advertised on Globespan's site, yet there is no record for it on either departing on the Galsgow Airport web site, or an arrival time/flight on the Sanford Airport web site.
This goes for the return flight as well.
Update: The BHX-MAN flight GSM 171 departed at 13:50, some 1 hour and 50 mins late.
The GLA-SFB has now appeared as GSM725A...
Looks like the "problems" including 50in seat pitch dissapearing are carrying on...
answer to bridd the gentelman is now ok spent the night in hospital and was released the next day. his sister drove up from alicantie (9hrs) to pick him up and drove back again to continue there holiday came back yesterday on the above flight (not much luck) 12hr delay. he was due to go back again in july to benni for a family holiday but has decided to stay at home for a rest
Does anyone know?
there is conflicting info.
The Glasgow Airport site is showing the flight still not took off, even though it should have taken off at 14:30 and the Sanford web site is showing it just as delayed??
is the Glasgow site wrong? has it took off?
From another forum:
"GSM725A took off 12 hours late (0235 local 11/05/07). Passengers were not offered any sort of accommodation. They were issued with £4 food vouchers.
GCEJM was tech, this was due to complications after a wheel change. The brakes were damaged, thus the wheel would not turn. It took time to source a new brake-unit. Once it was fitted, it was realized that the new part wouldn't work, therefore the A/C would be overweight for landing. As GSM have no other 757 in their fleet, they used GDLCH (737-800). I believe it came in from PMI a few hours before midnight. "
A 10 hour flight in a 737! No IFE, No premium cabin, what happy passengers thay must be!
I assume that the poor sods stuck at Sanford have to come back on this plane as the Glasgow web site is showing an arrival time of 11;40 today via Bangor.
I'm getting really worried about all this. We fly on 27th May from Edinburgh to Pula, Croatia. This is the first Edin/Pula flight of the year, and I can see this being a disaster now!

Don't panic. The good news is Pula is a short haul destination, and globespan have enough aircraft to cover their short haul flights! You may get a delay, all airlines have them, but I doubt it will be anything as chronic as the long haul flights have been, which is all down to too many flights and not enough aircraft....
I kept a check on the first of the flights from Glasgow to Cyprus on Tuesday (going in 2 weeks), and it actually taxied 1 minute early......
Fingers and toes crossed,
Jinty
Again, short haul operation running fine. Long haul.... well....
Good news for us then with short haul, but I'll still be crossing everything!
We flew with FlyGlobespan to Barcelona on 01 May, and back on 04 May. Both flights were on new Boeing 737-800 and 700 series aircraft which were spotless. The crews on both were great, and although we were delayed on the return journey by about an hour I have no complaints about the flights. As a previous poster said, the problems appear to be with the long haul flights, not short haul.
GSM111 Glasgow to Malaga, departure time of 06:00 today is showing now (14:06) "Gate open" so has not took off yet.
GSM152 Glasgow to Gatwick Dep 09:50, showing "Scheduled" so no take off time yet
GSM427 Glasgow to palma dep 14:30 only showing "Scheduled" not gate open
GSM112 from Malaga Arrival time 13:45, no arrival time showing.
So a few problems on the European routes as well
GSM112 is obviously the return of the delayed Glasgow-Malaga. GSM427 is probably the next flight the Glasgow-Malaga-Glasgow aircraft should operate. Big delay indeed, but at least its only one aircraft, and any airline could have that on any given weekend on in the summer.
GSM111 to Malaga ten hours late leaving
GSM227 to las Palmas scheduled to t/o 18:00, still showing scheduled, no gate open.
That is only one airport, and NOT the transcontinental routes, but their main base.
GSM231 to Larnaca dep 18:00 still showing scheduled.
GSM668 from tenerife schedule arrival 17:20, estimated 18:20 atm.
Their international flights are a mess, their European seem to be going the same way.
Im with Bagand 96 on this situation though, First Choice have been having a similar situation this week at Manchester, a lot of their short-haul operations have been distrupted with heavy delays. I can undertand that every airline will incur delays, it just seems that at this moment in time, Flyglobespan seem to be worse off at the moment
Suddy
GSM227 Las palmas went at 18:25, hardly worth reporting as late, will make that up en-route for a 4 hour flight.
GSM668 Tenerife and GSM231 Larnaca, again the same aircraft. An hour late is inconvinient but hardly warrants calling their operationa mess! In fact the 668 landed only 33 minutes late in the end.
Globespan's long haul operation is a complete mess, I'm not denying that, but their shorthaul is fine, as good or bad as any other...
