Monday 16 April - Firstly, this holiday is a little bit different to the other two we had been on to Goa this winter. My OH cant come on this trip

due to commitments at work and cant take time off. He very kindly gave the holiday away to my friend Emily. She has never been to India before and is very excited about her first trip. I did say to Mr G that we could leave the holiday for April, and maybe transfer it to November when we could both go together, but as I was off work sick at the time he thought a break would do me good , he is so kind :kiss.
Also, I am going to do a more condensed holiday report this time, just really say where we went and who we met etc. I dont want to bore you all too much!
So we are flying out to Goa at 8pm from Manchester with First Choice Airlines. My friends partner is driving us down and picking us back up again at the end of our holiday, which was very kind of him. I also have my extra 20kgs of goodies for Children Walking Tall, stuff that Rob had asked for like pens, paper and arts and crafts things for the children.
Flight with FC was excellent, no complaints at all and plenty of leg room. Some good movies (if you havent seen them already) Casino Royale and Night at the Museum, among others.
Arrived at Diabolical Airport, not as crowded as normal cos its the end of the season, so thats something! Still our cases came off the carousel last

so annoying! Outside our taxi driver Rupesh was waiting for us. 850 rupess from the airport to the Lagoa Azul. I thought that was a little expensive, but not sure?
Anyway we arrived at the hotel. Never stayed at this hotel before but went for a look around when we were in Goa in November. Checked in straight away, with no problems. Got taken to our rooms. It was in the annex building (Room 713), on the first floor, spacious room and a lovely view overlooking the pool. No complaints at all, very happy so far.
We unpacked and had a shower and made our way down to the Oceanic to see everyone, its like being home again!
At night we went to see our friend Rovin at Sendra's in Calangute and there is a theme night on. Very enjoyable, had a three course meal, with quite a few vodkas and honeybees all for 830 rupees. Its funny seeing Emilys face when we get the bill, cos everything is so cheap

Not a late night, cos very very tired. Back to the hotel for midnight for some shut eye.
More to follow soon .......
