no the flights have been running on time or early
the seat pitch is 32" throughout business is 38"
read the details on the website , it tells you what you get
at the end of the day its your decision if its cheaper and convienient for you to go to liverpool, book it
by the way when the plane lands at 7.45 am the earliest it leaves is 13.00 so plenty of turnaround time in Lpl
Having made a critical post recently , I think it only fair to say their short-haul operation has improved from Edinburgh over the last couple of weeks . And the transatlantic too .
I have not seen any reviews for the Boston service so I was wondering how its going since its by far the cheapest fare for a sort of last minute trip.
I'm hoping to get them to reconsider their 16kg limit on sporting equipment as it's way out of line with other carriers.
I'm off with them on a cycling holiday to Malaga from Durham Tees Valley later in the year & taking my bike but I don't stand a chance of getting it anywhere near 16kg - even Ryanair allows up to 32kg
Thanks for that - I'll give it a go
Well this was our very first time flying with this airline and it will definitly be our last, never again, they are a complete mess. We flew Edinburgh to Barcelona on May 23rd that flight was 6 and half hours delayed, then on our return on 9th June it was delayed again but at least this time only an hour ish. The planes not very clean either, crushed biscuit still on the floor by our feet when we sat in our seats not to mention the crumbs I brushed off the seat itself, obviously with such a delay and fast turn around they havn't got time to clean them properly. I reviewed this airline last year before we booked with them and went ahead because of the really great reviews they had at the time, but I have noticed that the majority of reviews now are not very good, the airline seems to be in a downward spiral and we are just fortunate that we don't live in Scotland and have the choice of many more airlines, unfortunately those in Scotland may not be so lucky
I seriously cannot believe someone defending what was a ridiculous logistical decision by an airline - to move around their flying stock in the manner mentioned above and have no contingency plans. Bizarre!
My fingers, toes, arms and legs are all crossed for my flight to Florida in Sept - gave serious consideration to losing £150 and booking elsewhere are their recent performances.
my son was meant to fly out today to Palma, its his 1st time flying without mummy AWWW!!
Anyway he was supposed to fly out at 2:25 glasgow - palma, but now they've been told that the flight has technical probs and they wont be going any where till 9pm tonight.
I'v checked live flight departures on glasgow airporports website and it says his flight is "scheduled" no mention of delay etc. Does anyone know what this means and is there any point in me checking this website.
Cheers.
S
Glasgow's website is unlikely to show anything for the departure until it has gone. If you look at the expected arrival time for the return flight, it'll give you an idea of the length of delay expected. With a delay of that length, its either a serious technical problem which is going to take all afternoon to rectify (in which case the flight may depart sooner or later than the quoted time), or they are waiting for spare capacity and the flight is being operated after an incoming flight later on today.

Hi ya, just come back from my two week hol in Canada. Had flight only economy premium with globespan from Doncaster. Apart from the delay going out it was fantastic. All food and drink was free and the 8 hours went so quickly because they seem to be always bringing you something else to eat or drink and pretty good quality. The stewards were very friendly and worked hard. Plenty of leg room, couldn't fault them really. I had a friend at the back in no frills who didn't enjoy the flight as she hat to pay for everything and having been given a seat near the loo, didnt get much peace. After telling her about my premium ecocomy for about £30s more is booking the same for the journey back. Will def fly with Globespan again.
Flyglobespan seems to be making the headlines in various newspapers this week:
Since booking the filghts we've had four emails from them with changes.
I most definately read on their web site before booking that the business class was a 50 in seat pitch despite being told on this site that it has never been that way, i'm sorry but i know what i saw!!
Talking to one of their customer service representatives on the telephone it appears they advertised a certain plane which did have 50 in seat pitch in business however thats was not the planes being used for the Liverpool to New York.
They have changed the flights from direct to landing in Knock in Ireland, changed the time of the flights and now they have cancelled the flight i was going to return home on all together which have forced me to stay on in the states for a further day, lovely i hear you say, but not so lovely when you have work and kids back home to get back to.
So if anyone can suggest another good airline, definately want to go in premium economy at least need th extra leg room both of us are between 5 10 and 6ft 1 tall but cant afford much more than about £2000 for the two of us for return flights.
Thanks

flyglobespan have just released their summer 08 flights to orlando. i just paid £1300 for 5 of us.
Whilst a number of Flyglobespan flights to/from Glasgow were inevitably cancelled this weekend due to the terrorist incident at the airport, Irish media is reporting that passengers due to travel on last Thursday's flight from New York to Ireland West Airport Knock have had their flight cancelled for a third successive due to technical problems ...

Mooby, we were supposed to be on the Thursday 13th September flight out to Sanford from Glasgow, but this has been moved to 12th September WITHOUT any notice, which means we are stranded in Sanford airport for 1 night, as our car hire and hotel are booked for the 13th, and to resolve this would cost us around £100 for 1 night! Should we accept their offer of a full refund and quit while we are ahead? Ive recently read some awful reviews of Flyglobespan and im slightly panicking now!!!
Oh, and now that they've bumped us up from Premier to Business Class for the changed outgoing flight, will we now have to pay £40 instead of £20 taxes?!!
If anyone can advise me on this then it would be much appreciated!!
Sorry if this has been brought up anywhere else (Had a quick look but couldnt see any) - we have been "bumped up" from Premium Class to Business Class (For outgoing flight only!) as compensation for our outgoing flight being changed to 1 day earlier and i was just wondering what the bonuses are to Business Class? I noticed its 40kg luggage, which is a bit annoying as that would've been GREAT if it was on the return flight (We are going to Florida!) but what else?
