If you are looking for a Chinese then Pagoda on Nissi Avenue in Ayia Napa is brill - best Chinese I have ever tasted. Well worth the trip from Protaras.
And I recommend the
Mojito bar and grill in Pernera is great, it opened this year. The food is fantastic and a reasonable price, great service and a friendly atmosphere!
Just wanted to know if there are any new restaurants we should try,I know wew will be having the odd meal in Nicholas Taverna and the Mexican which we love, staying clear of the chinesse, have to say when we go abroad tend not to eat chinesse or Indian because they just don't taste the same. The only chinesse that was any good was Dragon2 on the top road but that closed down a few years ago, also used to love a place called Vindabona which was Austrian but sadly that has gone.
Any reccommendations from this year?
3 more sleeps and were back to the Capo Bay. x
we are off to Protaras tomorrow so will check some of these out cheers all for the info.
His Klefito which I adore was sad,it was just 2 pieces of lamb(nice enough) but no veg, just a few potatoes and cuscous and pasta!.....not very Cypriot!....
We had fab meals in the Japanese and Mexican in Edan Square and Divas, which we hadn't been for years, ate in Romeos and Olympic for the 1st time and they were nice, although the portions in the Olympic are just that Olympic size.
We also went into Pernera and ate at a really nice Italian can't remember what its called, all in all had a fab time and can't wait to go back.
Nemo3 (or anyone)
Equal favourites were the Nicholas and Anatolia. Both traditional and both with excellent service.
The Nicholas gave us hot pitta , Houmus and Tztsiki free of charge as we hadn't ordered starters. They had a varied kids menu but were happy for the kids to choose a half portion from the main menu. The portions were huge with a variety of veg. Excellent Kleftico, and we got a variety of veg .
Anatolia was a little cheaper than the Nicholas and the food equally good. Their steaks were great.
Other than these two ,we went to ;
Red Indian - good ribs,
Promises- lovely views,
Diva (expensive and over rated)
Protomare - our worst meal and most expensive. Added to which they sneaked an extra payment off our credit card.
Mexican - went to the Mexican in Eden square and although we got a ropy bottle of House White (the only bad wine in 2 weeks), the food was brilliant. We didn't go until late in the holiday as I didn't like the heavy sales at the entrance. this was a mistake and we missed the chance of a return visit. If you like Mexican I would recommend this one.
Island affair - average
Without a doubt we found Cheers bar to do the best breakfast. The english breakfast was fantastic and only £2. The ribs that they do in the evenings are to die for!!!!! You get huge portions. Also we loved Anatolia the food is great and very reasonable and they make you feel so welcome.
Mojito is in Pernera opposite Fools and Horses.
Fools and horses in Pernera? my brain is confudled... whats across from it?.. is it up near what used to be the Italian place that then became the ?? Gastronome?? (or something like that)..and what used to be the Friends bar (some years back)...??
Try the Square Taverna in Sotera for proper meze long tables full of very freindly Cypriots,me the wife n kids were the only English on sat nyt was great going back in august this year
then in our hotel at the rising star for the all you can eat ...
cant remember the name of the chinese i ate in but it was great also it was the one on down the street past friends and only fools and horses and it had these chinese sculptures outside it with red carpet leading up to it
"The China House" ?
we like most foods except for fish dishes (well me anyway, my boyfriend will eat anything arart from hot currys) althugh never tried mexican or japanize resturaunts, think we would be best to stick to what we know we like for his birthdat though so its not ruined, and maybe experiment more throught the holiday.
if anyone knows avverage rough prices aswell that would be brill, or if anyone has any ideas what we could do for the night, we arrive at around 4pm. thanks x
I should imagine you wouldn't want to go too far on your 1st night , so Diva is nice, located at the end of the strip on the main road, or you could get a taxi to Pernera (not far away) and go to the Blue Spice, which is also very nice but a bit more expensive.
hello all! my sister is currently in paphos. anyone know nice places to eat near to land of the kings apartments ? thank you
The Wayange Chinese Restaurant in the Square, Ayia Napa. I know the guy that owns tghe place, he is really nice, friendly and always asks if you are enjoying your meal. Treat his diners very well.
Cavo Restaurant, Fountain Court, Ayia Napa (near the Japanese Restaurant). Chris & Joanna will make you feel very welcome, I promise, as they are my friends and do look after people. We usually get a free drink when we get there.
Polyxenia Isaac Restaurant, Pernera - fantastic food, beautiful views of the Med. I haven't tried a Meze but I do know that a Meze here is really tgasty.
JJules I've had the meze there and will be going back when we visit this year, its one of the best....
