Just skipping thru posts some info for travellers the Nationwide Building Society debit card does not charge for atm withdrawals abroad in any country. we have opened an account just to use for holiday withdrawals put the money in before you go and just withdraw what you need while away and no charges.

Can anyone tell me if there are any atm machines in C'an Picafort
thanks claire,
i know about the lake, i have posted on the mozzie thread and i'm quite scared to say the least but good to know about the cash points, ta
Also, i was at the post office getting my travel insurance and the cashier said that the was a new way to take money abroad, it was as safe as travellers chqs but as convenient as a cash card, it's called the money card, you load money onto it and take it with you, you get a pin to use it in a cashpoint and you can pay in restaurants with it, the beauty of it is that if it's lost or stolen they will courier a new one within 48 hours. Its safer than taking a cash card that is linked to your bank account, because if it is lost or stolen it can be stopped and nobody can get your bank details. The only money that can be spent is the money on the card and you can top up as and when you need it. I think i'm gonna give it a go but still take a cash card in case of and emergency. I thought i would share this valuble piece of info with all you great people.
Hope it helps
