The Prazeres Hotel is a little gem amongst all the 2* Hotels around Baga, Candolim and Calangute. It is actually 750 yards from Candolim Beach. One of the better beaches along this stretch upto Anjuna. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance. The Hotel layout is quite pleasant. The waiters and room boys wear smiles even though they are on about 60p a day. I have been going there for the last two years and are going there again in March 2005 for another 28 days. I have been in numerous hotels in North Goa. I liked this one so much I bought a 3 bed apartment. That should speak volumes and I am no mug!

Staying myself in the Prazeres for 4 weeks.
Fly out on the 10th March from Manchester.
My 3rd visit there in a year - love the place.....

Stayed in prazeres many a time, clean and the staff are excellent.

Raul who owns the business actually arranged all the details for my wedding out there, cosme (waiter) will do anything he can for you, Mathew the bar manager will keep it going all night and show you how to play solitaire. The best thing is when the room cleaners leave supprises on your beds, wont say no more about it but leave some dirty washing and towels lying around.

Hi we stayed at the Prazeres hotel ,2 years ago ,brilliant hotel etc ,but a certain person from london spoilt it all, oh god did he think he owned the place.It was a pityful shame for some one who thought he could rule the ROOST!.He ruled the staff,who must of thought he was god or something,our whole holiday was ruined by the loud music , which he thought was great till god knows what time in the morning at the bar. We did complain to the rep ,whom she just got a mouthful back of him, all in all there was no respect from him that ,it was other peoples long earned holiday just as well as his . We got laughed at by complaining to the management , basically he just took the p--- out of us,still this didnt change his attitude.when we left freinds of ours who were there for another week told us it got worse. We all loved the hotel ,but im afraid the prazeres has lost our custom ,we are staying somewhwere else this time. Apparently this person goes to the prazeres every year and has being going for a long time.So i hope anybody who is going there ,dont suffer like we did. The manager did apologize time and time again and did offer us another room,but it was to late ,it should have being sorted straight away.He did give his staff a good telling of,but it wasnt there fault they were taken under this blokes wing ,I,m the DADDY HERE!

Did you tell the guy himself that his behaviour was unacceptable,and was spoiling your holiday, I can empathise with you i recently had a similar problem, this person not only spoilt my holiday but managed to upset my buisness partner in goa, my friends who work in a beach shack and another who works on the beach, we all decided just to let it go, as none of us wanted to take the chance of any damage being done to our property The only difference is that i will always be full if ever they want accomadation in the future.

What month and year did you stay at the Prazeres?

stayed at prazeres a few times and its brilliant, nice and quiet, clean etc etc

Maybe you just had a bad week, after all you can get an idiot at any resort at any time, dont let it spoil it though.

this chappie goes from nov/dec through to about feb/march,we were there end jan/feb 2003 ,we did have a few nice words but to no avail

Like MrStella said the Prazeres is a good hotel.
You do get some loud mouths from time to time and Raul does need to draw the line somewhere. I have to say that I've been several times in the last two years and have not encountered any problems.

It really is an awful situation to be in, and it seems unfair that the staff got a good telling off, they are just doing their jobs. it should be up to the managment to sort out these sort of problems, you are right in letting your feet do the talking, Perhaps management will notice when there are no regulars left.

i believe when we left ,that freinds of ours had to put up with drunken staff outside their room ,being sick and falling all over the place ,my freind had to go out and try to help one he was that bad ,apparently it was BIG DADDY who had got them in that state .She was most upset by it,and she did see this chap and gave him what she thought ,she was disgusted.

If alls being well for the last 2 years perhaps BIG DADDY ! doesnt go any more. Thank god!

was it a big fat guy, bald head, normally has his missus with him (small brownish hair iirc). He was there when we were and he had a fight with one of the ppl staying at the hotel.

sounds like him,was he wearing alot of gold.

i saw this guy at christmas recently when we was there, same 'can buy you all out' attitude caused some trouble with a time share rep in the nirvana bar them he got barred and we didn't see him again for a couple of weeks until he popped up again having a row in another bar.

it's idiots (being polite) like this man that gives us brits a bad name abroad.
I dont think there is any other people as inoffensive as the Goans, so it beats me as to why people have to behave like this, it just makes me so mad, sad and ashamed to come from the same country as this A hole.
