These apartments are in a good location, just off the 'strip', loads of nice restaurants and bars to choose from for every taste

There are quite a few karaoke places! Zodiac is good for that and Panicos there is a lovely lovely guy, really friendly atmosphere. Bells over the road is a party bar with an Elvis impersonator. We loved it, a great laugh in there, but some can find it a bit too full on!

Is Protaras in Cyprus for me?

Hi,
I'm thinking of going to Protaras with my b'friend. Have been on various sites to find out what's there and what's to do but wanted advise from someone who has alreay been.
I'm going at the beginning of Sept, it's just the two of us going and we're looking for somewhere with a selection of bars/Restaurants but not over lively, also if you can recommend places to visit while there.
I've heard that Fig Tree Beach is gorgeous?
Any info would really be appreciated, it's so hard to chose somewhere without knowing what to expect!

You will love Protaras...Its beautiful...the beaches are excellent and yes Fig Tree bay is the best in my opinion. I've been to Cyprus 5 times but stayed in Ayia Napa 4 times and Protaras only once. Have decided to go back to Protaras this year. On reading this forum they have plenty to do and i'm sure others will add but i know theres bowling and a water park. I have taken day trips there everytime i've been and there are plenty of bars/restaurants. If you did want it a bit livelier then Ayia Napa is only a taxi ride away and thats also a lovely resort.

Lisa you will love Protaras

As for a choice of Bars etc..... Protaras has the famous "Strip".... a street which is lined full of bars and Restaurants....... you shall be spoilt for chioce, as to which one you want to go in! :lol:

Theres also a Only Fools and Horses Bar...... they show repeats of the series all day long, up until around 9.00pm..... then theres either Karaoke or Music....... theres also the Friends Bar where they screen episodes of..... what else..... Friends :roll:

Make sure you visit Pernera when you go.... a little resort in itself which has loads more Bars and Restaurants to choose from aswell.
There are loads of beautiful little bays dotted around this area aswell....... perfect for snorkelling :fish

We did the Egypt 3 day mini Cruise last time we went aswell :wink:

It's a lovely bay, but there are a lot nicer around Cyprus.

Hi there,

Just been looking at all your comments re protaras.
Hoping to book our wedding in Capo Bay in Sept....any of you stayed there, seen it or have any helpful info???

Hi Kwebb .. have to agree with the others in that Protaras really is lovely. we went last July with our daughter and loved every minute of it ... lots of pubs and restaurants and lovely beaches too. Im a sun worshipper myself so if your like me and like lazing about the pool during the day ... youll love it as its nice and warm !!

Just 25 more weeks for

us until we return to lovely Protaras.

As my daughter and I are both Vegi, we are going to try and look for

somewhere we can eat a Meze.... Vegi for us, meat for hubby and son. :wink:

........ and a few Brandy Sours aswell......... :roll:

You will love it, we are going back for the third consecutive year in August, something I thought we would never do as we like to vary where we go, but we fell in love with the place so much when we first went.

I have been to Paphos loads of times and Larnaca once and am headed to the Sunrise beach hotel in Protaras in early Sept for the first time and cannot wait!

Protaras at the end of October?????

Hi I am in in a bit of a quandry about Protaras at the end of October. Is it like the Balearics does everything shut at the end of October? I read somewhere that the hotels stop their entertainment in October is this true? Would I be better off going to Paphos? Any info would be helpful.

........ generally speaking Protaras does shut down between the months of October upto and April.
However, a lot of places are starting to stay open now, due to the fact that more tourists are visiting the area in October especially.
Many Apts and Hotels especially, do provide their own entertainment however...... so before you book, check what Entertainment will be available where you are staying........ :wink:
