Hi mdaly1
I have tried to reply to your PM but the replies seem stuck in my outbox cant seem to send them,. hopefully some of the admin team will help solve it for me.
Can you let me know if you received the replies.
I am sure you will have a good time, the tour operators class all that area as Protaras..
We have stayed in Protaras as well it is a nice resort and we like the new Eden place or is it square I always get it mixed up as there is usually a bit of live music on here and its a nice setting.
Elizabeth
It also has live music the a couple of times a week, really worth taking a trip out to it.
Kim
Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. Another question, any ideas how much in a taxi from the strip in protaras to Aiya Napa?
i too am staying at the brilliant apts but not until sept cant wait
would be great if you could let me know how you got on when you come back
cheers
Garry - will post a review when we get back, but I've looked through the xisting reviews and it looks pretty good!
Can we expect it to be really quiet there ?
I'm dreading getting there and there being no atmosphere.
I know its not one of the main winter resorts because alot of the tour operators don't start their holidays there until May.
Anyone ?
We got back Monday from Deryneia, just North of Protaras.
Whilst not exactly heaving, Protaras was beginning to "busy up". Most of the hotels were open and there were people about so it wasn't dead either (you should see the place in December!). The good bit is that there is actually space on the beach
Don't know about the evenings, as we tend to keep away - someone should tell them that we don't all like karaoke, Elvis impersonators and the such
And it was warming up very nicely - saw 26.5C on our balcony in the shade at one point, although it was more typically around 23C. We even got a tan - in APRIL !
Hope this answers the question

we went to Protarus last May and loved it so much we are going back in 6 weeks yipee, there is no shortage of family resteraunts and bars. The Antolia resteraunt opposite side to the Flintstones was very cheap and traditional, lovely people...
Does anyone know where I can find a map of Protaras showing where the hotels and apartments are? I'm sure there used to be a link on here ages ago but I can't find it anymore.
Thanks
I have got the map but have saved it to my pictures and now don't know how to get it onto here.
Hi Marie
Well done Kezza, I hate letting people down but didnt know the site I got my map from.
The Isaac apartments are in Pernera and well located. If you turn left and walk down the road that is where you will find the majority of restaurants people suggest. I lived in Pernera and tried out almost all of the restaurants - can honestly say there are none I would not recommend. If you turn right at the Seagull Apts (where the little fun park is) there is a lovely Italien restaurant down there on the left.
Plenty of traditional Meze houses etc. Walk past Pizza Hut and there are more places up there - that is where there was a fire but hopefully some of the restaurants will be up and running again soon. Cordon Bleu was always fab.
Very close to the Isaac is 'Island Oasis'. This is really nice and does great cocktails with a 'happy hour' every day! Food is good here - they do a great 'Lamb Kleftiko'.
Also turn right out of the Isaac and next door is Blue Spice. Super food and a great atmosphere in the evenings.
Making me wish I was back there remembering all these great places.....you will love it!
In Pernera is a really nice food shop. Not sure if you have catering or are catered for, Issac are SC aren't they?
Any way its on the main street in Pernera, not on the side closest to the sea, the other side.
They have a little coffee/tea & cake room area to eat in amazing cakes
They also sell really nice breads & deli stuff for a breakfast or lunch.
It's a much better quality food shop that you normally get in resorts, more like a posh food shop here.
To help you find it, can't remember the name They have an upstairs mezzine area & a lot of glass in the frontage.
PS Pernera is GREAT
Kim
Thanks for the map, it was very helpful Couldn't find the Rising Star Apartments on there, but found the Golden Star which are next door to them.
Parko food is excellent and a very nice atmosphere as well. We stayed in the Alva apts about 3years agoi very clean and tidy.
Will send better message when sober well it is saturday night.
Hi there. We had our honeymoon in Protaras from 24 October to 7 November 2006. The weather was nice, very hot some days, but on others it rained. Some days were cloudy. Protaras closes on 31 October!! Literally, the place was closing around us, shops, hotels, restaurants all closing. We still had a nice relaxing time though. however, if we return, we will make sure we do not stay past 31 October! We stayed at the Capo Bay hotel
hi ,thanks for all your replies, we have now got clearance from school to go on the 8th of october to the 21st. as i was there until the 12th last year i'm more confident of the weather now. so we are going ahead with the alva apartments. i would love to stay in the capo bay which is close by as it looked very posh. my young children used to feed the koi carp in the little pools.( i often felt there were far too many fish in there for its size but thats another story! ) only 6 months to wait now!
ps - Taxi ranks have started showing a price list at their "stalls " now. Very good idea in my opinion.
