Sadly, the gym on holiday is out of bounds for me, I did have a peak though it seemed like they had a few machines, not to sure what they were it seemed like it they werent used much.

As for pictures not to sure, I did try to look at on Google Earth this afternoon but the Satalites images are old so it is still being built, it is about 5 years old now, so the rooms are still very nice.

hi there. We were in Protaras in Oct 2005 for our honeymoon, from 23 to 6 Nov. The weather was great apart from one day. its a lot cooler than in peak season, but the temperatures were still in the high 20's and 32 one day. We both got a tan.

Word of warning, protaras closes (most of it) on 31 October!!!! as we found out to our cost, we had nowhere much to eat for the second week!

You should be ok for half term week my daughter goes every year, Ayia Napa and Kaparris are still open after Protaras closes,

The weather in Cyprus is better than any other Meditereanan resort at this time of the year .

The last time we went was in october 2001 , and as people have already said it got very quiet at the end of october..the weather was great apart from a couple of days when it was a bit showery, we had a car and went to Paphos (long trip) on the day that protoras got a deluge(flooded roads by all accounts)
We are going back on 15th October this year , staying at the Elamaris..can't wait

I have never been to cyprus before and was wondering if any one can tell me the best area in Paphos to stay. There will be 2 adults and my 14 year old daughter, and i would like to be near to beach and restaurants.A lot of people are telling me there is not an awful lot to do here for teenagers but others disagree. Can any one advise me please?

A holiday is what you make of it, Paphos has plenty to offer for teenagers.

There is a waterpark, a go Karting track, mini-golf course, bowling, plenty of watersports etc.

There are restaurants and plenty of bars etc. but there are also quieter areas too and many historic sites to visit and great trips which you can do from Paphos.

The beaches are not great but nevertheless they are there and you can swim in the sea. Coral Bay area has two great beaches and there are many more further west.

It all really depends on what you are looking for in a holiday. Clubbers paradise it is not but it will suit most people.

If a large sandy beach is the most important thing in a holiday for you then it is probably not the best choice unless you stay at Coral Bay.

Hope this helps a little

if you are looking for a beach holiday then Agia Nappa,Protaras or Permera would be better, the beaches around Kato Pafos are shingle, Coral bay has some sandy beaches but then you are a long way from Pafos,

Cheers for that Viv.
We dont want any where really lively and we aren't clubbers, just somewhere that we can go of an evening to a pub and enjoy a bit of entertainment and a few quizzes.I have just been looking at an area called Tomb of the kings,it seems to be near to the beach and a few restaurants/pubs but am not sure so will have a proper look later, but thanks for taking the time to reply.

have a look at kefalos beach village.it is right by the beach and close to tomb of the kings.its a mixture of selfcatering villas and apartments but you can opt for b and b etc.the beach is a mixture..pebbles and sandy areas..my daughter was married there about 4 yrs ago there where 16 of us in the village...we had a brilliant time.you are within walking distance of dozens of pubs restuarants etc..but they are far enough away not to be intrusive..kefalos beach village has its own website..have a look.it sounds like it would be ideal for you....cheers....rod

Coral Bay is all sand!! and there are even better beaches further on without masses of holiday makers, it is for a better holiday, my choice every time, and I can go any where on the island I wish to within hours..Also Coral Bay has some great restaurants and bars without those huge mass of tourist's pushing and shoving you will get in A/Nap!

Kato Pafos and it's harbour are just about the best holiday setting I have seen on Cyprus, you can while away the day just watching boats come and go, fantastic, just ignore the time share touts, just be polite and say you live here..

Enjoy your stay!! 8)

Thanks Rod and Jimbox,i am not too fussed about the beach although we do like to go on the odd occasion,so i presume we would need a car, what it is like to drive in cyprus?and are the local bus services quite regular?Sorry for all the questions but i want to found out as much as i can before i decide to book.

A car is always an advantage as you can also drive over to resorts such as Polis, Latchi, and east to Pissouri also if you would like a quiet beach a car would get you there easily, but there is a reasonable bus service that runs from the harbour area that will get you to Coral Bay in fifteen minutes or up into Katimi Pafos (old town) is just five minutes, great daily market there for fish, meat, bread etc plus other market stuff, around this central market are some very nice cafes and such like, with great views down onto Kato Pafos, do not miss this!!!

Jim,

The daily market - is this just food, or is it clothes etc, and is it just on in the morning?

cheers
