Great reviews meagain yes deffo a new yrs honour got to agree with you on most of your comments,
i love 'curries' and its a place i feel happy to frequent regularly for sure, as meagain says great food good prices and service .... and good music..and the owner is a gem. i had a fab mutton sheek kebab with roti and fruit salad and curd (plus ice cream!! naughty) excellent
agree also love Patricks in Chapora too... hadnt been for a couple of seasons or so and was pleased to say it was as good as when i remember it some time ago ...
there do seem to be some great places this season i love Decades, the live band is great on a monday and they get a good crowd in and are very nice owners ... keen to make sure you have had a good meal etc prices good too... havent tried Pink Chilli unfortunately as had flu when my friends all went although have met the owners Louise and her husband who are both lovely, but i have heard nothing but good comments about the food...
(sorry!! dont shout BUT!!!) for those who like karaoke Eclipse on a Tues with Pilkie is good fun, and the food is excellent and good value and as meagain says a pub atmosphere.
Mango grove, candolim still serves up good food.
There is a handy new little restaurant by the highland beach for anyone staying there called 'Sonikas heritage' just a bit further up from Foxes, newly opened this season it has very cheap prices lots of snacks on the menu.... looks a bit daunting from outside as its glass fronted, very nicely furnished and has A/C so looks pricey but its definitely not!! owned by an Indian does lot of vegetarian food also chicken but no mutton or pork but well worth a visit, as well as indian food has an english menu does breakfasts from 100 rps to 250rps for the big monster which includes toast tea and coffee , chicken/tuna salads with new pots120rps, jackets at 40 rps toasted sandwiches at 40/60 rps a tasty thai chicken soup ...
sorry my memory is not as good as Meagain's considering i eat out almost every day i am ashamed of myself!!! good job i am not after the critic title
Chilly
Hi meagain
Has anybody tried Kukuruku which is on the path across from Nicks place heading into Arpora?
That could very well be the name of the Hotel where Pink Chilly is but as I am only a prospective candidate for the restaurant critic new years honours, I am not qualified to comment on hotel locations but my other half who is more than well over qualified as a know it all, thinks or should I say knows that is exactly where Pink Chilly is located

Have not come across Kukuruku yet but will give it a go if I can remember it's name
Sounds like you ned to get out more......or indeed stay in more!
I am up for a dedicated holiday "eatery" awards that come with a list of ratings, google coordinats and description...but I guess the time involved would be hard work. I would be happy to supply the coordinates though.
Thanks for the info, me again. I enjoy trying places that are off the beaten track so will try to get to one or two of these.
Not sure where "Curries" is
From the circle by the temple and the market at the top of Calangute head towards Arpora, after a few hundred yards take the first turning on the right, Curries is on the right just before you get to the Mapusa road or from the Palmarinha hotel on the Mapusa road head towards Calangute, take the first turning on the right by a big old banyan tree then Curries is a on the left just after the bend in the road, less than a ten minute walk from the Palmarinha
It lays back off the road a bit with a short drive leading to it's car park, but you can see it from the road and there is a sign, easy to see at night as there are lights on the trees
Popped into the Chippy/Log Cabin in Calangute yesterday lunch time for breakfast, we go for the veg version at 180 Rps, two eggs, beans, toms, mushrooms, fried bread, fried potatoes, toast and tea or coffee, still as good as ever but the couple on the next table had fish and chips with a side order of mushy peas that looked and smelt wonderful, they stay out by club Cabana in Arpora and walk to Calangute via Baga to get to the Chippy just for the fish and chips also they highly recommend the non veg breakfast at the Hungry Horse near Paradise Village, said you even get black pudding with it. We have eaten there a couple of times over the years but never been that impressed always prefered Russlers or Why Not but the last two places have changed hands resently so it looks like we will have to give them all another try sometime, good job I am not on a diet.. yet

I've done a bit of cutting and pasting and printed off the suggestions ready for our departure for Goa next week. The taste buds are tingling at the prospect - bring it on!
Thanks again!
As anyone ever emailed Pink Chilli, just wondering if they received reply
Hi Preacher Louise from the Pink Chilli is on the face book Goa meet and greet page you may be able to contact her there also they have a web page for Karma Cafe which belongs to them too!!
Thanks for that nejulie.... appreciated...
If so any reports?
East meets West
All Spice
Stonehouse
Chef Soumeyens
PS. See you at the meet on 6th Feb
All Spice, have had some good meals there however it has been very up a down over the last two seasons but again have not been lately due to Nik n Nats opening just over the road and we now prefer it there when in that area
Stonehouse good food, good prices and some very good music most days but the background music can be a bit over powering at times and I love the blues but all in all a great place we use almost every week
Chef Soumeyens, really like this place, very good food in a pleasant setting also good service and not that much more expensive when you want to spoil yourself
I would love to hear other opinions particularly about East meets West and All Spice from people who have been this season
Thanks Meagain, any other suggestion round candolim area?
