If the food's good I'll sit on a mushroom

Banana Moon-my son loved the English bloke that owns and runs it. Don't know his name but he made us feel really welcome. They do a three course Indian meal for 200rs. Very tasty too. Good entertainment, African drumming, singers-good chilled vibe and a funky toilet!
Where is Banana Moon?
Banana Moon is now in it's 3rd location, the latest being on the opposite side of the road from Molly's a bit further down towards Paradise Village.
We found a cracking little place on Baga Road called Mikes Hideway, bar downstairs on roadside and little heaven of eaterie upstairs ...all food cooked individually by 1 chef only ..portions huge [26 mushrooms for a starter and 3 stuffed peppers for another ...best for shareing ]...but word of warning if going in a large group let him know as stated only 1 chef on duty at a time so he can make arrangements .......
Bit of a downer at Cactus/Sheperds pie...meal was ok nothing special but what was off putting were the rats that were playing on the top of the shutters above my friends head , she couldnt see them but I could, and she thought is was the breeze that was making the shutters rattle ....I could see large rats with long tails and 4 feet about 2 ft above her head ...oh my god......Sorry but wont be going back there .... :
Thanks GFF might give it a try it April
A lot of people raved about the Seagull, in Calangute. I guess you have to speak as you find but hubby had a nice cockroach running around his dinner and he said the food wasn't that great. I had cauliflower cheese and chips, it was lovley especially as I had been nursing a dicky tummy. There is a guy there from Nepal who was hilarious, an absolute football nut, called Visham (my 6 year old is telling me!). He made it a fun meal!
Er, no lol . It wouldn't have mattered if the food was good though.
i best not name it but the one on candolim high street thats owned by the english people with there very english menu we went there and the place was packed out but for my small family its the opposite what we went to goa for, fish n chips in goa, strange.
I know what you mean, we tried to avoid anything English run. We had our last meal at the moonshine in Calangute, owned by an Englishman. Well hubby ordered veg lasagne and they waiter guy spoke no English at all so he got a meat lasagne which he can't eat. Well the bloke who owns the place just sat there he didn't come over, we never got an apology or an offer of an alternative. So hubby then went to the Rice Bowl, near the church in the middle of the road and had lovely squid rings-service with a smile!!!!
Sublime at Baga Bridge is English owned and I would have no hesitation going back there. The owner came out personally and spoke to us, offering us different variations to go with our main course.
Sublime moved this year and its been a bit up and down in the new location, more down than up unfortunately. Chris the owner has been a bit stressed without his partners i think. Think people should iron out the problems before they get too big. Will try again next year if hes still there.
Sublime was my No. 1. Willbe back there on 28th Mardh
Le Resaurant Francais is the best place I have eaten in Goa - maybe any where
I tried I-95 (at last), it's fantastic!!! the food is excellent and the service probably the best I've ever had in Goa.
Hi GFF whereabouts is I-95. someone else mentioned it as well, sounds good. Need to add it to my list of places to go
I-95 is new this year and it's to be found in the garden of the Art Gallery.
This is to be found at the very back of the shopping area, just before St Anthony's, the church in the middle of the main road from Candolim to Calangute.
If you know where Luma supermarket is - go up the road just to the left called Adventure Road, at the end of this road is a huge sign on the wall facing you. The restaurant is on the left side, about 250 metres along the road. Look out for the Art Gallery - a big red stone building.
The chefs are Indian but the menu has a very strong French influence - a bit like Le Restaurant with bigger portions. I can strongly recommend it, the food is delicious.
If you scroll back to pages 11/12 this is where we originally spoke of the restaurant
Thanks Miccie, sounds fantastic. From the directions, I know where you mean. Will give it a try in April, thanks again
I hope you enjoy it Gemma, I'll be back there at the weekend!!!
