Hi, I am looking to book the rising star in august direct with the hotel, i have emailed my request but had no reply. Is anyone out there aware if they have a long winter break and when i can expect a reply? i am looking to book the flights asap with monarch and would like to book my accomodation at same time if possible. This will be my 3rd consecutive year to The Rising Star, previously i have been on a package deal and last year booked room only with thomas cook. This year it appears they will take direct bookings. Any help appreciated :)

Greeks and more especially Cypriots are renowned for not answering e-mails in a timely manor, also they may be closed for the winter [31 oct to 1 may]

Hi Wizard, Thanks for your reply, i was expecting although the hotel is locked up that there would be an office (remote or otherwise) that would handle enquiries and such like. Yiannemarie sounds like a group like SOL that own several properties. :)

Can anyone tell me if the beds in a 1 bed appartment in the living area ie. the camp beds are suitable for adults
Thanks

we did not get any complaints from our kids but they are what they are, sofa bed and camp bed. if you're a fussy sleeper then it may be a problem. The biggest problem really in these apartments is storage space for four adults, We utilised the coffee table and invested into cube hangers which came in very handy. As long as you take a chilled approach, you will have great time :cheers :)

Could you please tell me what cube hangers are. We are going here in May and I am a bit concerned about the storage space.

Hi Norma, Cube hangers are like they sound. They pack flat in your suitcase but open out like a concertina into five seperate compartments when hung in a wardrobe. Its like having an extra 5 shelves. We hung 2 which gave us 10 extra shelves. great for t shirts , undies, swimwear, t shirts etc. As long as you dont overburden them then they are fine. In our case they were great for all the kids clothes. You can buy them in john lewis for about £15 but Qualitysave sell them for about £3 ;) :cheers

Thanks for the reply re the cube hangers. Can you tell me if they weigh much. We have booked with Direct Holidays flying with Eurocypria Airlines and we are only allowed 15kg each rather than the usual 20kg.

Hi Norma, They are very light, they are basically mainly made of umbrella type material with card for shelves. They have velcro at top which you wrap round wardrobe pole. :cheers

We stayed here last year. I sent numerous e-mails to them as we were getting married and needed to book the restaurant. We didn't get a reply till March/April. I think it re-opens around Easter time as that was when I started to get replies to my e-mails.

they replied to me last week saying there was no availability at rising star and rooms at golden star were 100 euros a night.i think they probably keep them all for thomas cook originally then sell off whats left. 100 euros is way too expensive so i think i shall bide my time ;)

Hi does anyone know what the Gym is like at the Rising Star, what type of equipment do they have? Only asking! doubt i'll set foot in the place but seems like not a bad idea when I'm sat at home.

From what i remember it was fairly basic. On another note regarding the Rising Star, i see it is now offering All Inclusive, it will be interesting to see how this works out. Would love to go back there :tup

Will give you a wave at the airport, we arrive on the 3rd, staying in Kapparis this time but no doubt will be in and around the Isaacs for a fair amount of the fortnight :cheers

I know nothing of the Rising Star but have holidayed in Pernera for the last 8 years and will be there from the 11th Sept to the 25th with my good lady wife. Spectrum Bar is the best in the area and have some great pics of the new Piggy when Angelo just got her, how cute??????????
