Not sure why you dont have the option - you could phone the call centre (costs 10p a minute from the UK) and they will take the info from you and add it to the booking.

They are only open Mon-Fri, the number is on the Ryanair website and make sure you don't phone the premium rate number by mistake !

when you check in on-line for your flight there is a box to tick to add API for all passengers before you get to printing out your boarding pass.

thanks everyone for the hand luggage tips!! Best thing to do is measure my bag dimensions, does anywhere sell a bag or know where I can get a bag that is Ryan Air hand luggage applicable?

Ps what is a security box? :yikes

Thanks!

what is a security box?

I think that this refers to the metal sizing container that you can find just before the security check when leaving the UK and/or even at the actual departure gate itself, for airport and airline officials to recheck the dimensions of hand luggage, especially where they suspect that the bag itself is just slightly oversized for the rules of the airline you are flying with. You then may be invited to return to check in to check the bag that you had intended for handbaggage as hold luggage and pay any fees that this might involve ...

Ryanair's sizing is somewhat less than many other carriers, and you should be especially careful about sizing if you plan to take a case with wheels as handbaggage as the wheels (as well as the case itself) have to fit inside the size requirements shown.

They were using them at the departure gate in Liverpool last week.
One guy had no chance of getting his bag in - didn't see him on the flight.........

Not only it is important to get the correct size case but please also remember that its also how much you put in it so that the size remains roughly within the stated dimensions ! Forcing in airside purchases ie food, together with a few mags, papers and bottles of water etc can make a big difference !

Alsaciennes clarification of the security box was spot on.

There does not appear to be any seperate API options now.

As you check in online (which we all must do now) all the API infornmation is added then.

Just booked our first ever flight with Ryanair.Have been a regular flyer with Easyjet since the Go airline days.
Booked two return flights for a 3 night stay to Malta (first time here also) total cost £80.
We go on the 16th Jan so I print out our checkin forms anytime from the 1st?
Next job today is hunting down handluggage that meets the size.
Still looking for a suitable hotel. The Hotel Waterfront sounds OK anyone have any comments.

Hi pipefitter .. the Malta forum would be the best place to seek out advice and recommendations for hotels. Remember to quote your dates there too, as some hotels and resorts may be more suitable than others at that time of year.

yes you can check in from EXACTLY 15 days before your flight - if it's a 6.00pm flight then after 6pm, 15 days before.

Ryanair will no longer be using Basel Airport from 2 December 2009.

Yes, this will result in the withdrawal of services from Basel to Stansted, Alicante, Cagliari, Marseille, Porto and Stockholm (Skavsta).

Affected passengers will be contacted by Ryanair and provided with a full refund.

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a list of distances from the airports to city centres that Ryanair fly to please?
Thanks
Jean

Presumably you mean the city in the name they use rather than the place the airport is actually at? I don't know of a simple list but for most the distance is shown on the Ryanair website, look in Destinations in the yellow strip near the top - you will have to go through one at a time and for a few it's given in minutes rather than by distance. Some are a bit outrageous (Frankfurt and Brussels for instance) but many are genuine.

Ryanair expands in UK regions

New low fare routes from Bristol, Edinburgh, Prestwick and Liverpool are to be opened by Ryanair in the new year.

The budget carrier is to open ten new routes from February and is to base additional aircraft at Bristol and Liverpool airports from March 28.

Bristol gains flights to Faro, Gdansk, Palma, Venice (Treviso) and Valencia.

An Edinburgh-Tampere service is planned toegther with Prestwick to Carcassonne.

Additional services from Liverpool are to Lodz, Rimini and Trapani.

All services go on sale tomorrow (Friday) on http://www.ryanair.com.

Frequencies on two Bristol and four Liverpool routes are also being increased.

The airline claims the expansion will deliver 400,000 additional passengers a year and sustain 400 new jobs at these airports in 2010.

A spokesman said: "Ryanair routes at these airports deliver millions of passengers, and sustain thousands of jobs at each airport and in the surrounding regions every year."
