well theres so many to choose from really, starting from the closest which would be the arenal and ses sevines (which has childrens entertainment), then a bit further round is the hawai, osris, bella mar. Although i think the most family friendly place would be the Riviera or playa bella but it is a good half hours walk or a short water taxi away. On the other side of the town (opposite direction to the bay) there is the gran sol, Abrat, Tannit and Blau parc which are good hotels are quite close to the action and quite family orientated

It depends on what your main priorities are, the young ones or the older ones?, entertainment, close to the beach, self catering etc etc.

Thanks lukey, would prefer self catering but would also consider other options. Not too bothered about hotel entertainment, usually manage to entertain ourselves. Ideally would like something on the beach.

I have been considering the Ses Savines, but not sure if its a bit too close to nightlife and does anyone no if it attracts a lot of young singles, or is it mostly families. Also can only find it available with B&B or half board, but I'm sure I read somewhere that you can go self-catering too.

Hi there.

You could try Playa Bella Apartments operated by airtours, the are in the centre of san antonio bay surrounded by bars, restaurants, trampolines etc. there is even a bowling alley just up the road. The apartments are all set around a reasonable size pool and are right on the beach. There are bouncy castles and trampolines at the hotel also but when we were there last year the bouncy castle was broken, the hotel puts on entertainment every night if you want to stay at the hotel in the evening. The apartments are reasonably basic but clean and adequate, afterall its only somewhere to sleep, apartments have air con & safes and most have a sea view.

Access to San Antonio is easy either by boat taxi which has a pick up point on the beach right by the hotel, local bus or taxi. It is possible to walk to San An town but it would be a good half an hour.

We stayed at the Playa Bella Apts back in 2005 and we enjoyed our holiday.

I would recommend the Bergantin, we have stayed there a couple of time and going back again in a couple of weeks. I know its all inc but to be honest its great for the kids to drink pop and have loads of ice cream with out worrying, very clost to bull bar and crazy golf for night time activity for kids.

We stayed at the Costa Sur in October last year. We booked for the apartments but when we arrived we were put in the hotel - we kept quiet and managed to get our breakfast for free every day. The hotel food though isn't great, so would choose the apartments. It is very clean, only 5 minutes walk from the shops and bars (it's next to the bowling alley), has a great pool area and a small childrens' play area. One added advantage is the Casablanca Pub, which is part of the complex, and has entertainment every night. It was great for us as we could come out of there and go straight upstairs to our room - no worries about having to walk / get a taxi back. There were lots of families there, with kids of all ages, so I'm sure your family would enjoy it.

You could try the Marina Playa aparthotel which is right on the beach on the bay and only 2 mins from the ferry shuttle and only about 15 mins walk along the front into S Antonio town. Haven't stayed there but eaten in the restuarant a lot, pool is on first floor with bar and looks like all the apartments have sea views. You can book direct by the night. Very friendly staff in restuarant.

Have a good time

Katy
