Hi John,
What do you class as a larger family room? Are they the ones with the partition or the apartments? How many of you are there going. If you post back I should be able to help.

hi John, I have emailed the hotel recently and their reply said that if you are with Thomson you must go through them , a room with a wall between is for 4 people and classed as TW4.

i have been a couple of times before and have stayed in 2 kinds of room in the hotel 1, a room with a double and a twin in 1 big open plan room and 2, (last time) we stayed in a different room that had a wall dividing the room up that i understood all rooms on that froor were like but not sure what floor it was on.
there are 4 of us and my daughter is that bit older now so would appretiate a wall between us....

The rooms with the partition are on the 4th floor, but you must have booked one of these at the time of booking. If you booked a double x 4 you will get one of the open plan rooms. If you booked a twinx 4 you will get one with the partition. Check your booking confirmation. We had one with the partiton on our second visit, but last year we had the open plan room. I tried to change it when I realised but was unable to.
Hope that helps,
Mick.

SoI am at the San Miguel Hotel right now may 8th, its hot clear sky, temp about 80+
Cigs, the Spar has everything price is aboit 31.50 per 200 its all under the counter stuff but they were fie when I asked for prices.
The path to the cove with the bar has not been paved or fixed as per previous report, the bar there is not even built its flat packed ready to be rebuilt.
The complex is about half full, Zorro and all his crew are here except the girl who did the clown last year. From the Thomson team only one girl from last year is here, Halley I think her name is.
Hotel staff are all pretty much exact same as last year with one or two new people.
No real changes to the resort at all, my only moan so far is that our room TV picture is terrible even though we have asked reception to fix it three times its still unwatchable which is driving our five year old son nuts.
Oh yeah, .none of the shops have newspapers or magazines at all and with no TV or news its annoying.
Any questions just ask as I have time to kill away from the kids pool at the SM club.

Hi John,
Glad to hear you're having a good time. Is the excursion shop over the road by the car hire shop still there?

Hi itsrare :D Glad you're having a good time - 13 weeks tomorrow and we'll be there - our first time at the San Miguel 8)

I was wondering do they have one of those aloe vera suncream reps wandering about? I bought some at Easter in Fuerteventura and it suited my skin well (although it's a bit expensive) and I'd like to get some more if I can buy it there.

Also, does anyone have a price list for the little excursion shop, and a list of trips available. Would like to do an island tour if there is one and possibly a trip over to Formentera, and maybe one or two others depending on what there is.

And, no newspapers at all?!?! Best part of my day, sitting back on the sunbed with a cool drink and the daily scandal - oh dear...

Anyway, keep that sun shining!

Apart from the cost of getting to Ibiza town in the first place to book the trip!! I think I'll stick with booking in resort.

So, you're saying they're everywhere apart from San Miguel? It'll be cheaper to buy them online and pay P&P than to travel to other resorts to get them.

We'll be there from 8-22 Aug, travelling from Manchester 8)

Hi everyone, we will be in San Miguel for the first time on 21st JULY 2007 FOR 2 WEEKS. There are 9 of us in total including 5 teenagers aged 13 to 18!!! (I know don't you feel sorry for us). Going with my sister and her hubby, can't wait. Any tips and info appreciated. What time does the entertainment stop at the hotel and is there a disco just outside the hotel? We have booked rooms with a seaview, have 4 rooms in total. What time do the restaurants operate? Do I need to be down early for sunbeds? Tell me about the evening entertainment? Lots and Lots of questions I know, but really excited.
Bye for now

Hi there Gyontour, I'm at work at the moment and bored, so I'll try and answer some of your questions.
There is a disco just up the road (underneath the Happy Friar pub), I think it's open until about 3 in the morning, not been there myself but met people who have and they said it was ok.
The evening entertainment is mainly done by the hotels entertainment team and it will keep you amused. It finishes at midnight. Do not miss 'boogie nights' - a real good nights fun.
The day time entertainment is based around the beach club pool and there is plenty going on all day long.
The restaurants open in the evening at 6.30 - 9.30, then re-open from 10.00 till midnight for snacks. They are also open between midday and 2.30 for lunch. The Western Saloon opens from midday - 7.00 pm for burger & chips type snacks.
We usually go end of June / begining of July and have not faced a major problem with sunbeds, but if you need to get 9 together you may need to be up a bit earlier (7.30 - 8.00 should be ok)
Hope this helps, - need to know anything else just ask.
We'll be there in 51 days time!!!

hi again, am I right in thinking it's free watersports, ie pedalos at this resort? Surely that can't be right about no papers!!!! My hubby and son will be gutted! Any recommendations on any trips and prices?
Reply
Watersports that are free are canoes, sailing and windsurfing. Pedalos and banana boat are payable locally.
Had no problems getting papers before - maybe it's because it is only the first week of the season.
Didn't bother with trips before, as there is always something going on in the hotel, but I'm sure that other people have and they may well post to let you know.
Anything else just shout.

Hi Gyontour- free watersports are small sailing boats, canoes and windsurfing. You have to pay for pedaloes - 12euros per hour last year I think.

I am sure that there will be newspapers available once the season gets underway.

Sorry to tell you but with a group of 9 if you are not down to the club pool by 6.45 - 7 a.m. at the latest you will struggle to get sunbeds in July/August and it is the Brits who are the worst offenders! I hate doing it but otherwise you would end up on the beach everyday. One of us stumbles down to the pool - reserves sunbeds and then back to bed for another couple of hours!!

We are there the same time as you so I may regret giving you that tip!!!

Have a great time :D
