doesn't really get busy. At weekend there's a few locals go there. It's only a small beach, but no sunbeds or brollies. There's a little bar with tables and chairs. It's lovely an d peaceful therre, after the hustle of the hotels!! I will try to upload you a pic tonight, if I can

I liked the description of the cove on that site "The owner is friendly, very laid back" an understatement, he's so laid back he is one wink from sound asleep.
"Ibiza peak season at its chilled out best...."
Spot on, all the clubbers who need drugs to feel chilled out miss the real feel of a chill out at this place.
And is that one of my photos at the bottom of the table with the bottle of San Miguel?
But people now that you know the best little place in Ibiza don't tell anyone :wink:

hi all,
just wondering where is the nearest tabac shop,my husband smokes golden virginia,and he usually stocks up while abroad.

there is no Tabac shop in San Miguel. In fact it's hard to buy any ciggies there at all :roll:

The supermarket opposite the Beach Club entrance sells 'under counter', as it is now illegal to sell ciggies in a supermarket. If you go in and ask if they sell Golden Virginia, they will maybe get you some, but I wouldn't take the chance. There are Tabac shops in Ibiza town and bigger resorts, I think there may be one in Portinax.

how far away is portinax,can you get a bus there or cab,or are any other larger resorts that have tabac shops nearby.

I managed to get Malboroughs from the supermarket, but my partner (smokes GV too) took enough with him. We hired a car 10 days in and bought more supplies from Ibiza town. There are plenty of people smoke, staff included, who will be out and about who can pick up some for you, as they all appreciate not easily being able to buy any in San Miguel.
I'm not sure about taxi prices to other towns but there are other regular San Miguel guests who post on here who may be able to help you properly.

As Molliemoo said the large supermarket sells ciggies under the counter, - last year he had GV, Drum and Old Holborn. There is a tabac in Portinatx, you can take the mini train ride round to there, thus combining a trip and ciggie stock up. But we had no problem getting fags or tobbaco in San Miguel. However it may be different this year. I think we'll have to wait untill someone goes this year then they can post and let us know.

thanks for the advice,will proberly grt the mini train to portinatx,as if its all under the counter in the supermarkets they may not wish to sell large quantities i.e my husbands and my quota of tobacco(think its 6 x 10 packs each)or 3000grams each.
can't remember if i have asked this before,but where is the nearest cash machine from the hotel? or would it be ok just to take cash and hire a safe,but a bit weary of having a lot of cash with me even in a safe,normally rely on cards.

actually the nearest tabacos is in san miguel town, up by the church (which is on the way to portinatx)

adeibiza is right, there is a tabac in San Miguel village. It's about 8 euros return in a taxi. The nearest cash point is also in the village. If you don't want to take cash, why not use travellers cheques and change them in the hotel. But as I said earlier we had no problem getting fags in the resort. If you want to bring a lot home you could order them from the supermarket owner or buy them at the airport on the way home, - they are about the same price.

Just remembered something about buying ciggies and tobacco from the supermarket over the road. Last year the guy who owns the shop wouldn't take credit or debit cards for fags etc, - only cash.
It might have changed this year. If anyone is going early in the season perhaps they could find out and let us know.

since last year most places (supermarkets etc) that used to sell fags now cant, some will sell cartons only under the counter but the days of shops selling you 10 cartons of marlboro, 15 jps etc are gone - you have to go to a tabacos.

afaik the only "shops" that are now allowed to sell fags are the tabacos & obviously the fag machines

Looks like you are the first to go this year John. Let us all know if the Belgian nutcase and his pals are there this year, and if poss check out the tobacco situation please?
