We're going to San Miguel Hotel from 27th June-11th July with 3 kids aged 11, 9 and 13 months!
I was very worried about going to this hotel as I'd heard some awful stories (lifts never working/poor food/tiny bedrooms/cold pools/poor state of hotel) but I've been re-assured after reading posts on this forum-thanks everybody!
Just worried about feeding my 1 year old-is there a good choice of food for wee ones this age?

were there on the 23rd june for 2 weeks so there the same time ish..its our 5th year at the sanmiguel..my boys are now 10 and 14..so they have been going since 5 and 9 and love the place..yes the lifts can be a bit hit and miss..all pools are cold when you 1st get in..depending on the weather..the food is ok,..breakfast is great ..the snack bar is good ..so is the chinese..evening dinner can be a bit hit and miss but there is always something to eat..i tip we found is the beach club restraunt is a little better than the hotel you can eat there everyday if you want but need to book it 24 hours earlier ..and for that special night there is reportably the best restraunt in ibiza just a minutes work from the hotel..and i can you they are no far wrong with that opinion steak to die for..fish thats so fresh..and real chips lol..is worth a visit if only once sat on the sea front watching the sea roll in and out. lovely way to spend an evening..does anybody know if the entertainment has gone outside yet as the weather on the internet still aint brilliant

carolis - As thescarrots says, you need not worry about feeding the littl'un. If you are going to give the baby milk, you can either get it from the restaurant or buy it in the supermarkets opposite. If you're buying it be aware that the shops all shut at 2.00 pm on Sundays.
Also watch out for the cost of nappies - suggest you buy their own brand ones, if you're not taking enough to last the holiday, as pampers cost more than the national debt.
The lifts can be a pain but not as bad as they are made out to be.
You'll always find something to eat that you'll like, but if you are in the hotel restaurant for your evening meal suggest you sit as far away from the windows as possible as it is really hot their. The view is stunning but you will cook.
Echo the thoughts about the restaurant on the other side of the bay. It really is worth treating yourselves to a meal there.
Hope you enjoy it - let us know what you think when you get back.

First timers at San Miguel should know the wee mexican eating place at the swimming pool of the Galleon hotel is excellent during the day and is part of the all inclusive.
Not a lotta people know that. ;)

thanks thescarrots and micknmill. It's good to get lots of info before you go somewhere. It's just our first time away with our disabled daughter and panicking a bit!
Must try the restaurant in the bay and the mexican in the Galleon-let you know what we think.
Is ther weather any better yet? Internet says it's same temp as here!!! :cry

Hi,

we were also unable to get a seaview upgrade when booking with Thomson (Double for 4). I emailed the hotel, and they have done the upgrade for us.
If you are on the other side you will get a view of the pool area, and a side on view of the sea, but as I say you can upgrade via the hotel.

Breakfast i think is either or 10 am or 10.30 am, can't remember properly!!

We go on weds, so I can update if no one can answer now :tup

Thanks. Only wondered about the breakfast but we normally only manage it for the first few days anyway.
Will e mail hotel and try to get our sea view. how much did your upgrade cost?

Can any of the guys who have been out already confirm if Jose is still in the bar at the Western saloon.

Hi

Jose was there a few weeks back when my friend and her hubby went out. :tup

Thats good news.I read a review on another site saying the bar staff were very rude.It didn't sound like Jose.May'be wee Ritchie was throwing water over them. :D

It seems a bit unusual to say they're rude, probably just got their heads down busy. Altough Ramon can be a bit off sometimes :really
