I think you'll be fine in the school holidays. I was really worried taking my 15 yr old son this year as he really didn't want to come with us. He ended up having a great holiday. Luckily he made friends and we hardly saw him-there was plenty going on to occupy him. If your son likes joining in with activities he'll probably make friends too. My son has even agreed to come back next year. Always said I'd never go back to the same place but my 10 yr old daughter is pleading too so looks like we'll be returning.
Thanks luci, they seem a really friendly bunch ,have got advice already.

Anyone know if Zorro and the gang are gonna be at the SM for summer 2009?
We gave out six year old the choice of Egypt, Turkey or the Greek islands for 2009 and he said "SAN MIGUEL"
To be honest it may not be the best hotel I have ever been in by far but it does have something thats brought use back three times so far, we always feel at home there, safe and relaxed. We skipped it for 2008 but boy was that a mistake so we have to be there for 2009 it seems and for three weeks
Dunno what the cats in our house are gonna say other than "party Time
"

Just a quickie re Zorro and the night time entertainment. Some people have said that he is a bit near the knuckle for kids and that he is really the "adult" entertainment. Just wondered if there is something going on for the kids whilst he is on or do they watch too?
Also, how are the kids clubs set up? My 2 are 5 and 8 so not sure if they would be in the same one or not [ that is if they even get a space]?
Thanks.

we didnt find the entertainment too near the knuckle and our youngest was 7,but we only went 2 or three times, the kiddie stuff disco and thompson stuff was on till 9 anyway, lots of kids were crashed out in buggies afterwards.the entertainment finished at about 12.some older kids were playing with freinds or on there ds/psp.the speil is repeated in several languages,so i dont think kids would be bothered to listen. mo.
Have any of you been the last week of October,we can't really decide between Ibiza and Turkey,is the hotel still really buzzing or does it wind down, also whats the weather usually like. Not been to this hotel before although we've been to Ibiza lots of times, usually in May.Thanks for any help,T.
We went the last week of October last year and wouldn't do it again. The place is running right down by then and the evening entertainment was limited. Plus it rained most of the week. We usally go in June / July and it's fantastic then.
Zorro's entertainment is suitable for kids - apart from the really prudish.
Thomsons kids clubs are 3 - 5's, 6 - 8's & 9 - 12's. You may need to book the day before in peak times.

We had rain last year in May so we're trying to avoid it this year, think we'll book Turkey.T.

An article in today's Daily Star puts San Miguel as the number two holiday hotspot after Benidorm and above places such as Paphos, Marmaris etc
CLICK HERE Someone should tell Zorro about this article - he'd be chuffed to bits!
We looked all over the place for something similar to the SM in the Greek Islands, Turkey etc but every time we thought we found a great hotel we found umpteen bad reviews so would you Adam and Eve it we are off to the San Miguel again
This is our fourth time and we are gonna try the Beach club for a change since we have a 18 month old addition
So is anyone else from the forum heading there around the 20th June? We have a seven year old and our 18 month old going. Anyone any thoughts on whats better the Beach Club or the Hotel?

Hi
My husband and I are also going late June (17th) with a two year old. This is our first Familyclub holiday, so a little unsure what to expect (we always went on long hauls before our addition!) We are also staying in the beach club, not sure if this is the right decision? I assume most kids will be toddlers at this time of year with it not been school holidays? Does anbody know if they will let me 2 and a half year old in the kids club?

Hi MOVALLY
The beach club will be fine for you. You'll be surprised at the amount of older children are there - people tend to take the kids out of school as it is much cheaper.
You won't be able to take your two year old into the kids club, - they must 3 years old due to insurance purposes. However there will be a toddlers club that you can take the littl'un to.
Have a good time....

Any news if Zorro and gang our there this year.
MOVALLY We arrive late on the evening of the 20th June with our seven year old and 18 month old, she runs around like a two year old so we will probably meet you at baby pool down at the beach club, its quieter at the baby pool which has a small adult/kids pool next too it and we prefer it. Most early mornings I am on the beach with the kids way before all the crowd get there as its a nice calm time for the kids to play around and we get to build the first sand castle of the day or feed the fish.
The Thompsons Family club holidays are really good, we have been three or four times now all to the San Miguel and we never regret it, the reps are great with the kids the entertainment for them is real good to say the least and of the many hols we have been on the ent for the adults is also better than most here, the hotel ent staff are legends infact if Zorro and the gang were not here I am not really sure we would go.
