the weather stays warm well into october cant comment on prices we didnt stay in sidari we went all inclusive in our resort, but i should imagine it would be reasonably priced, sidari has 100's of bars restaurants etc so i would think they would be competitively priced to win the custom 8)

Hi Claireg. Yes I would definatly recommend SIDARI. What a place, went last year with my girlfriend and another couple for the first time. (ALREADY BOOKED TO GO BACK JULY) Plenty of choice for bars and resturants, with the bars you can have it as loud or as quite as you want and with the resturants you are spoilt for choice. Plenty of traditional Greek resturants, I would recommend "THE OLYMPIC" and "THE FAMILY". In the Olympic you get Greek dancing and very good food and friendly staff with the Family VERY VERY good food and very friendly staff. But you will find that they are friendly where ever you go. Food and drink prices reasonable, about £1.50 for a pint of beer and a meal for two with wine about £15-25. Hope this has answered some of your questions, but I know you and your boyfriend will have a great time. Any more questions :?:

My husband and I went back to Corfu last year after last visiting it 23 years ago, we stayed in Sidari and could not believe the change, we found it very hard to find a traditional Greek Restaurant near to where we were staying did find Salt and Pepper and Christos the owner was lovely at least all the staff were Greek but nearly all the other bars there were English waiter/waistresses from all areas, quite a few tourists we spoke to said they had been overcharge by the English staff working there, we met up with a Greek friend of ours who has gone back to live in Corfu he did'nt rate Sidari at all and was quite supprise at the meal he had in Salt and Pepper (He once owned a Greek Restaurant in Manchester) We would never go back to Corfu but I think it now caters for the younger elenment and I can understand them loving it.

Wen't to Sidari two years ago and had a great time. Prices are about the same as the UK for beers etc. Food is a bit cheaper than here and varies in quality. The best returants were in the canal d'amour end of Sidari. In particular Damiya's yard was the best and the village one quite good too.
Plenty of lively bars open till the early hours in the cetnter of Sidari.
We were there in late September early October and spent everyday on the beach.
Hope you enjoy yourselves we did! :D

Went to Sidari in 2002 and loved it. Stayed in the Legends apartments on the edge of town and these must rank as the best apartments i have ever stayed in! If you are after traditional greece then Sidari is not it but if you hire a car its easy to get to more traditional greek places like san stefanos and Kassiopi. There are plenty of bars though we found the restaurants weren't great other than the one closest to our hotel which was Athena or Athens, fantastic food and the best kalamari i have tasted anywhere, it was so nice i proposed to my then girlfriend there and we are now happily married!

Sidari was lively with reverse bungee machines and loud disco type bars, quieter tv bars, cough cough English style bars and some quiet bars (with a few more locals in them)...

As for local food we found a place called "The Orchard" over the bridge at canal d'amour and follow that road up about 1km maybe less.. it was a quick walk for us.. The food was excellent and had a choice of local specialities.. I highly recomdend trying the "Stamna" if its on that day (a rich beef stew with a hint of cinnamon, I recreated the recipe when I returned and its on my website if you are interested AskCy.com) The stuff vine leaves were also a must, the best we had while there (had some in Cyprus and even they weren't as good)...

If you are after total culture is a bit sparse.. I would love to have stumbled across a little coffee house or a real local cafe but didn't. We hired bikes and went to Sunset Beach, where they have a resturant (a bit more pricey) and the views of the sunset from there is a must see...(we missed it, still kicking myself.. don't you miss it.. and take some photos :) )

Can anyone tell me if sidari is suitable for a middle aged couple who like a nice beach, quiet but with still plenty to do, nice tavernas and flat area not to far from beach, as one has walking difficulties hills etc

I'm afraid the words quiet and Sidari cannot really be used in the same sentence! Read the reviews onhttp://www.holidays-uncovered.com !

Why not try St Georges North or Arillas for a more genuine Corfiot experience.

I would maybe recommend San Stefanos just north of Sidari which may be more what you are looking for, superb beach, quiet but still enough restaurants to keep you happy.

Sidari isn't a Kavos Type resort, it caters more for families and therefore has more bars and restaurants and is fairly lively. The beach is nice though.

Hotel Aphroditi in Roda, is the place I would suggest.
Plenty of restaurants,(traditional), food excellent, taverna's good, AND FLAT. Beach is at least 20 yards away, if you can be bothered to leave the pool. Family run hotel, absolutely spotless, and extremely friendly.
Smashing little place and lovely village.

I wasn't taken by the beach at one end, but the other and was pleasant enough... There are some quieter bars (don't forget they have bars in hotels and most don't mind you spending money there).

It does have a bit like being in blackpool buzz going on though,

(I hate those loud disco type bars though and we managed to find enough places to go and see)

I would not recommend Sidari, it's not quiet, it's not traditional, found most of the bars were not Greek, nor the food, We are not beach people although did have a walk on the beach that also was not quiet did not look very appealing, as two 65 year olds, we were very disapointed with Sidari

If it has to be flat Rosie then I suggest Roda because the whole resort is on the flat. If you can take gentle inclines then Kassiopi.

Roda is a pleasant enough resort with a good range of restaurants and bars. It can be lively in the evenings but never rowdy or too loud.

Kassiopi is lively and loud down by the harbour at night but the rest of the town is fairly quiet. The small beaches dotted around the resort are an oasis of tranquility during daylight hours.
