We went in October and had a wonderful time You want greek food Just a good meal the Three little pigs where the waiters put on a dancing show plate smashing and torching the place as you eat. Several good resturants on the main Street to cater for all tastes We will be going back and prices were reasonable.

we went to sidari in september which is about the best thing i can say about it.
the beach,streets and bars are fillthy. a very narrow main street loved by mosquitos and louts on cycles. we were almost run over on the pavement. please dont go there.
arillas on the other hand is beautiful. clean, friendly, great beach, great food and service in all areas.

I do hope you've booked to go to Roda at Hotel Aphrodite. We were there in May one year and its perfect. Book through direct holidays.

Take notice of Jag49! Sidari is a dump and not worth the long transfer from the airport. Roda isnt bad and the hotel Afrodite is very good. It is also flat. But Kassiopi is much prettier and in September, when we went, it is not noisy at night on the harbour area. Bars used by youngsters are in the main part of the resort, but again not too noisy in Sept. We plan to go back soon, staying in a privately owned apartment. Much more civilised than general Greek self-catering! They have a lot to learn yet. Hotels are usually better than s/c. Wherever you go, do a boat trip to Parga, via Paxos & anti Paxos, its wonderful. We are middle-aged, too and enjoyed north Corfu very much. The scenery is fantastic and the weather was gorgeous. Went to Kassiopi on day trip from Roda and yes its lovely. Not as flat as Roda but not bad. Lovely harbour area and lots of shops.

hello ma nad my boyfriend have booked to go stay at the sidari village in july could anybody tell me anything about the place and surrounding area?

Sunset beach a long walk or short (hired) push bike ride has stunning sunsets (and I need someone to take some pictures as we couldn't get there at night due to too many for a taxi) hint hint
Loads of different bars and resturants (even a place that did pie and chips if you are that way out).

Up the road past "canal D'amour" (about 1/2 mile) there is (I hope its still there, its a couple of years since we went) a place called "the Orchard" very nice food available... pleasant gardens, lovely bloke who owns it...(I recomend the 'Stamna' we asked him for the recipe but he was a bit cagey about it. I managed to work out the ingredients when I got home and have made it several times since)

Lots of shops and even a spar shop...

Beach is ok (not the best beach I've seen but hey ho, you just need sand and sun)

we had a great time there...

be warned we went in sept/oct and it did rain but it made little difference as we were still warm and just hid in a bar until it stopped (thats our excuse and we are sticking with it)

I saw Terapins living in a stream while out on a bike ride (must hire one and take a slow ride around to see the flora and fauna, get to see the old houses, the way people around live, see the places like sunset beach etc.. and get sunburnt in places not normally uncovered (very top of leg normally covered by shorts.. ouch ouch)

has anyone been here? do you think it would be a good place for 3 girls who want a relaxing holiday as well as lively, but dont want to be somewhere as lively as kavos style for this holiday! we're not sure where to go, but think one of the Greek Islands will be best! please help!

we went to sidari about three years ago. loved it. ok we went as a family. we used it as a base to explore the island during the day and at night there were plenty of places to go to but not so over the top as kavos.medot.x

went last year.its really good.the canel d'mor side is slower and more for familys.if your on that side of sidari check out a reasturant called 'the village'.fantastic food.

hi,I went to Sidari last year and I loved it.The beach is great for with shallow sea,you can walk out quite far and it still quite shallow.You can hire speed boats,pedal boats and canoes on the beach.There are plenty of restaurants to choose from,even for the fussy eaters there will be something to please.There are also plenty of bars to choose from and a few clubs.Sidari is a great place,you can have it a quiet or as mad as you like,there is plenty of choice.

Was there last year, seems to be something for everyone, mostly on the main road through, we had a great time, there are quite bars, music bars and tv bars, many deals on eating out, such as three courses at a really silly price, also a night in the greek resterant is worth going to, its the one half way along with fire danceing always busy, but worth booking a table, no at all expensive, really can't remember the name, if you are going to hotel or apartments most have some form of bar, which can be a good start to the evening or somewhere to come back to. I agree sidari is a dump.Me and my family when 2 years ago.Worst place ive been,it was that back we paid for flights to come home early.

you can not please all the people all of the time,everybody is looking for something different form their holiday.At the end of the day it is down to the individuals.Dont be put off by peoples comments,what may be their ideal holiday may not be yours.Sidari is more of a family and couples resort.It is not as bad as some people make out to be

WE ARE NOT MAD 18-30 TYPES BUT DO LIKE A BIT OF NIGHTLIFE COMBINED WITH DAYTIME ACTIVITY/LOUNGING IN SUN ETC!

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM SIDARI? WHAT IS LIKE BAR/NIGHTCLUB WISE? WHAT IS LIKE BY DAY - BEACH, WEATHER, ACTIVITIES ETC?

Hiya mate,

I (29) went to Sidari last year with my girlfriend (24). We wanted somewhere lively but without 18-30 type groups and Sidari was recommended.

There is basically one long street that runs through the resort and this is lined with restaurants, bars and shops. We went self catering so were eating out every day and didn't have one bad meal. You'll find a choice of Italian, Chinese, Mexican (which I particularly recommend but cannot remeber the name of - its upstairs near the centre of the resort) and (even) Greek places to choose from. There are that many places to eat you'll be spoilt for choice.

There are also lots of bars/pubs to choose from depending on what sort of night you want. There are the more lively music bars like you would find in resorts like Malia, Laganas and Falaraki offering free shots on entrance, 2-4-1 offers etc. The only difference being there isn't as many and they're not quite as busy (although we went in June so this may be different at the height of season). There are also quieter places that have entertainment on - karioki, pub quizzes, singers, comedians, films, comedy dvds etc. When we were there the world cup had just started and Greece had won their first match of the tournament so as you can imagine the place was rocking that night. There were two nightclubs in the resort but I didn't particularly like any of them so tended to stay in the bars which were busier anyway.

There is also an area of the resort called Canal D'Amour which tends to be quiter so if you fancy a more relaxed night this would be an option. If you want to get a taste of traditional greek life and culture you'll have to go further afield as Sidari is basically just a beach resort catering for predominantly british tourists.

We found there wasn't a great deal to do during the day so spent most days relaxing on the beach. There are plenty of watersports to choose from. We especially enjoyed the ringos. Better than any theme park ride. I myself to be honest. There are a number of other beaches along the coast if you fancy a change. You can hire motorbikes in the resort or bikes if you don't have a license.

Can anybody advise me please?
