Hi, yes I enjoyed the food but I am fairly easily pleased anyway. Things are repeated but I always found something I liked and enjoyed. Breakfast was always the same everyday but I had not problem with that. I enjoy trying different things and liked, the chick peas, lentals, spicy okra, chilli con carnie, vegie burgers etc etc. I never had a stomach problem at all but did speak to a few that did! Only saw the evening entertainment a couple of times cause I am not really into that but I think they put a lot of effort into what they did and enjoyed the show they put on one of the nights. Never went to the noisey pool just stayed round the quiet one which was fine and the bar there. Tamer (might be spelt wrong) was a good bar man and was very quick even when busy as this the nearest bar to where the evening entertainment was put on. It was generally a very friendly hotel and would have not hesitation in going back and hope to sometime.
yeh me and wife going back in may cant wait just the temp gonna be the killer then. more expensive to go in may but gladly pay the extra . if you ever gonna book it again try and of march beginning of april temp is around 25 to 30 although we hit 36 a couple of times and its the cheapest time to go £520 for 2 weeks all inc what we paid this year where in may we paying £760 for 2 weeks but to anyone who going to this hotel will always say its great value for money always book well in advance aswell you will get the cheapest price. i tried a few of there stuff and i never got a bad tummy mostly caused by people over indulging first few day pharoh,s revenge as its called. breakfast i always had fried eggs on toast stuck to what a knew tried bits of there local foods couple of things where brill but anyway so glad you enjoyed it and glad my advice was useful .
Hi, We are going to St. George in April and would like to do some trips but not too far away has anyone got any suggestions? (not Cairo or Valley of the Kings, we are going to do that on another holiday).
Have you taken a look through the dedicated excursion topic? http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=10154
There is a lot of good info and recent advice that should give you something to start with.

As many places egypt is a bit behind so if you go expecting benidorm or ibiza its not the place to be. but for a family holiday or just as a couple i would recomend saint goerges to everyone what they lack on the entertainment side (but they do good with what they got) they make up with friendliness.
I have seen that tour site and will look at it later ..more near the date e are going..25th July..going to be hot..
We have asked for 3 rooms together..if poss... can you give me a clue on room numbers I like afternoon sun facing rooms..but I really fancy pool rooms so you can just walk out of your room..
thanks agian for you advice..
oh forgot to ask is there much out of the hotel..i don't mind a walk...
if you look through all my posts you will find loads of hints and tips . email st goerges about 1 month before you go and request what you want through them the will with no problem. they even have joining rooms aswell .

hi smithy during december january time its just like a great british summer time. for any guests within st goerges the do great to bring christmas into the hotel complex. even though egypt may be mostly mouslim they also have alot of christian egyptians so the do cover that time of year.
as for currency change about £100 over here and wait to you get there the hotel exchange does a better rate than the uk they love the uk pound.
