Hi, just wondering if anyone has been to this hotel this year. We have been for the last few years and loved it. Have there been any changes for 2006 and are the same staff still there? Big Sal, Sahlil, Jimmy, Izzy, Billy in the bar - Hassan in reception - Mehmet, Hussein and Aydin in the restaurant? Would love to hear from anyone who has been recently
genc beach is beautiful as is all the beaches at the rear of the lagoon there are free mini bus service to the beach and pick ups at 4.30 i think
check out the ngi web site ( nicholas homes ) on my web site under links
while you are at st nicholas hotel you can use any of the other hotel complexs if you fancy a change its just customary to purchase a drink
if you use the pool
if you have any more questions you want answered please pm me that will be no problem

Is no one back yet your back on saturday kel bobz, but you will be coming back to good weather. Look forward to hearing all, 4 weeks to go for me
Just back from St Nicks.
Most of the staff there are the same from last year.
Here are some of my family's thoughts.
Pros.
Resturant still has decent food and excellent service, water with meal FOC.
Bar meals good, Service mostly very good. (although sometimes left
waiting at the bar to be served even when you are the only one waiting!)
Digital safes now in rooms, not charged, ( in hotel letter states charge of £5 week.) New kettle and proper toaster in appartment. Rooms basic but clean.
Staff always polite and friendly.
Cons.
St Nicks not as quiet as last year, Now has set entertainment most nights and in afternoon. Night entertainment starts at 10:30 pm! Karaoke, same old repeated music, bingo, quiz etc. Can be a bit loud! (barbeque on Wednesday)
Some sunbeds would be reserved with towels left on them for hours on end and no sign of being used! More people NOT staying at St Nicks using sunbeds and pool. ( both could be a problem if busy.)
Kitchin equipment- suggest you take your own corkscrew!!
As always it is our fellow Brits that seem to sometimes spoil things a little for others. Swearing, shouting, banging doors, coming in at 4:30 am. It wasn't like this last year.
So in conclusion we had a good holiday and made some new friends.
Some Turkish families staying there also which is nice to see. They were always polite and seemed to enjoy their stay.
We feel that we would like to stay somewhere more quiet and more Turkish if and when we return to Turkey.
Thanks for the comments felin, we didn't go to St Nicks on our previous visit, but were really hoping we'd be getting a 'quiet' break..!!
Really does bug me when fellow Brits (and their kids) don't respect everyone else staying in their hotel - We like a couple of drinks ourselves, but wouldn't dream of behaving like that. I guess it's pot luck whether you get lumbered with a noisy mob during your hol - I'll just keep me fingers crossed!!
Out of interest, what exactly is the afternoon entertainment felin?
Also does anyone have an idea when the last dolmus' run? If we went into Olu in the evening, would we need to get a taxi back?
It's not every afternoon but seemed more than last year when you could almost have the main pool to youself in the late afternoon in the peace and quiet.
Can't tell you when the last dolmus from Olu is but you can ask or as you said get a taxi back.
May I suggest you try the Butterfly Resturant above the Lemon tree in Hisaronu, The food, including the veg, is excellent! (My wife especially likes the Tandir Lamb.)
As for excursions I booked them all with EXPRESS (below the Butterfly) Ask for Baki. He gave me a discount on every trip.
Thanks for your report on St Nicks. Sounds basically the same as previous years. Is Big Sal still there? Also Jimmy, Izzy, Sahlil in the bar?
Hassan in reception? Sorry, so many questions, my teenage daughters want to know?! Have they changed the bar area again as I know last year all the staff didnt like the way it had been changed and they said it was going to be different this year?
Thanks
The layout of the bar looks to be very much the same as last year as does the rest of St Nicks.
Checkout time has changed from 10:00 am to midday.

1 Entering village from near Monday market take 1st road on the left next to the Shine indian resturant up the hill past the Marcan hotel on the left then at the large open junction turn left and continue up (St. Nicks is signposted)
2 Taking the closed road to the left of and behind the mosque up the hill to the large open junction and continue up the hill (this road can also be accessed by going up the steps next to the Suntrap resturant. At the top of the steps turn right)
At night always take a torch in case of powercuts as the roads will then be unlit. Its usually a 10+ min walk from the centre of Hiaronu and is uphill which ever way you go. A taxi will cost 8 YTL.
