hi all i am slightly hung over after going out last night with work colleagues for a meal, i had garlic mushrooms with spinach and cheese yum yum and a steak with garlic, tomatoes, spinach and capers with eight big chips!!!! and i had two pieces of garlic bread with tomatoes and cheese on it. i had two vodka and diet cokes and two small glasses of white wine. absolutely gorgeous so i dont mind being as sin free as possible for the rest of the week.
green day speed food: lentils, 28g houmous, apples, oranges, pears, beans, carrots, peppers, tomatoes and quorn. there are more in the book for all of these this is just a few.
super speed: baked beans, broad beans, peas, grapefruit, melon, raspberries and strawberries.

red day speed: bass, halibut, fruit as above, chicken, turkey, broccoli, mushrooms, quorn.
super speed: cod, haddock, plaice and fruit as above.

hope this helps, lindsay.

Down again, so i've now lost 14.5 Lbs since i started mid/late January, and i can't argue with that! I'm also close to breaking the next 'stone barrier' so i'm still well up for this diet! :tup

Definitely been slowing down, but i'm still losing between 1 or 2 Lbs a week so i'm quite happy to chip away at that, exercise has slowed a bit this week with the exception of my five a side as i've been decorating the bedroom (does that count as exercise!)

What are all these red, green, speed, super speed, etc, thingies?

depending on what day you are on these foods help speed up your weight loss!! :really

Thanks lordy. Although I'm not on slimming world, the 3 things that I eat most of are chicken, cod and haddock so that sounds ok!Well done CiderMonster and Sandyglen :tup

Sounds way to confusing to me!!

I'll just stick with my good old fashioned calorie counting!! :rofl

Well the curry I made (lentil and squash) was very disappointing. I followed our leader's advice to buy some special curry powder that she uses and it lacked something for sure....TASTE !! I'm sure that you need other ingredients apart from curry powder, onion, garlic, passata and veggies.
What about curry paste? Would that be a better idea? I think that contains the lot and you just add a couple of teaspoons. Any advice curry afficionados ?

Morning all
Hope you are have a good weekend - tried logging on yesterday problems and then the post I sent is not there.
Lordy - glad you enjoyed your meal out I think a break from the plan can have its rewards. :rofl
Cidermonster - keep going. ;)
Hbrac - I made a lovely dahl from a recent SW magazine using squash and lentils. ;) If you want I will send you the recipe.
I seem to be doing ok - have written everything down since Wednesday including syns, did weigh myselg yesterday and still stuck at the same weight for nearly 2 weeks now, :cry see what WI brings on Tuesday? I am also re-reading the book as I think it is easy to forget certain things. :really
For Sunday Dinner today instead of bolied potatoes I was going to have some sweet potatoes - any ideas on how to cook them?
Thanks in advance.

You can do them like a baked potato Irene but they cook quicker or slice them, spray with Frylight and roast them like SW chips. They are lovely and lower G.I than an ordinary baked potato ( if you are into that way of thinking too).I have all the SW mags :D so I will go back and look up the recipe Irene.

P.S Forgot to say I also use them in curries :que and soups

Hi Hbrac
Thanks for the info.
Will do them like the SW chip I think.
Apologies the recipe I was thinking about is a spinach and lentil dahl - P42 of Nov/Dec issue. Mind you I suppose there is nothing to stop you putting in squash. The October issues has some recipes for squashes/pimpkin. ;)
Speak later.

fry onion and ginger, garlic and tomatoes (must be a tin as he didnt have them in the ingredients list!!), add spices cook till it shines. add chicken cook until ready. stir in natural yoghurt, add coriander and ready to serv with bread from allowance or pitta bread (weigh to sin)

Hi everyone,
Lordy - I am typing this slowly - no mistakes that way, mind you it could be something to do with my age!!!!!
Was busy this morning, housework, washing, ironing etc as hubby cooks the roast dinner and I forgot (told you it is my age) to cook the sweet potato so just had loads of veggies with my quorn roast including parsnips. :) I will have them one night for tea - do you have to peel them?
Off to do a bit more ironing!!!!!
Speak later.

Hi all

Cidermonster well done on your weight loss thats brilliant!! :tup

Hey everyone i finally managed it, I went out for a drink for hubbies birthday and only used 28.05 syns :clap . I had a can and then 4 halfs of lager ( believe me thats nothing to what i normally drink :cheers ) I even stopped when we came home and had a cup of tea instead :yikes but i must say i do feel abit rough today (hate to think what i would feel like if i had been drunk)

I got everything done before we went out, Got the dinner ready ( roasties in while we were out ) uniforms ironed and house done
So all i had to do when we got in was plate up.

I am soooooooooooo proud of myself :clap ( never managed to stay on plan in feb )

Only mothers day in the way now. My friend is going for a chinese for mothers day (now i want to go) but i will resist and maybe save all my syns to have myself alittle sweetie party in the night time ( after bubble bath and kids have gone up)

Goodluck with the weigh ins everyone

Ooooh Hbrac .. naughty naughty!!

I'm a total nut addict, cashews, peanuts, salted, roasted, you name it ... but i aint had any since Xmas ... they are one of my downfall foods!!

Actually, i got my weight loss wrong, it's actually 16.5 Lbs since i started .... i actually weigh myself in Kg, but convert to the old ancient biblical imperial system as no one seems to understand kg!!!! :duh I never really got to grips with imperial, hence the error .. but hey, it was a good error!

Anyone else fallen off the healthy eating plan?

For the past two weeks I have been trying to stick to the plan, but ended up having things that I shouldn't have had, or at least treated them as syns. Because they came to more than 15 syns, I was too annoyed with myself to write them down. I know it's daft, because all I am doing is kidding myself.

Needless to say I have put on at least 3 pounds. It doesn't sound much, but as you know it takes a lot to lose just 1 pound.

I have my weigh in tomorrow and will have to start all over again.

Hi all.
Sydney - I can relate nearly word for word (or lb for lb) with your post. Got my weigh-in tonight and still cant make my mind up about whether to actually go. I know I should but i'm completely dreading it. Not had a good couple of weeks. Syning like mad and have been over my syns everyday except one when I was at my day's limit. There is something about having to record my daily intake that makes me really good and stick to the plan which is why I try and use a food diary. I feel guilty having things that are really high in syns. So, when I get naughty like this, I dont write things down so it doesnt look so bad .

Well done to everyone who has lost weight this week. Keep up the good work.

I'll check back later.

Sarah :)
