Came back from apartments yesterday. I'll be honest but dont panic cause they are constantly doing things. They are brand new so are going through some teething probs but the staff do get things rectified asap. Our room was fine just a wee prob with hot water one night but got fixed. Some rooms, still had building work to get finished but should be done for the next plane load of people. We didnt have any security boxes and my bag did get stolen, so be careful but again this should be done for yous going out, a lot of stuff was ordered and was getting put in the rooms when we were there, bins, table and chairs etc. The kids entertainment started the day before we left. Some staff have probs speaking english, but theres usually someone else there.
Food is really nice and the apartment was clean. Would go back. Weather was hot, a cple of days were cloudy but within a few hrs it cleared so will be boiling july/aug. If you need a bit of a breeze go to the beach!!!

Sorry for confusion. It was a statement. We stayed at Sun Village but there were bill boards advertising Sun City Apts

Hi guys , I am also there on 20 th June and looking forward to it! Is the pool nice? Is it freezing or does it warm up nicely? Nice to hear that the weather was good and hopefully apartments will be all finished by the 20th! I've never been to Bulgaria before but can't wait to try out the cheap shops and restaurants. :D

day or 2 before we left some safety boxes were put in reception. Only about a dozen, not enough for all the apartments, but things were getting added all the time.

...exchange rates are they same as home

Rates are invariably poorer in the UK than in Bulgaria, e.g. The Post Office's rate today is 2.553 Leva to £1 & Marks & Spencer online rate is 2.702 Leva to £1, while two of the major Bulgarian banks are offering 2.819 Leva to £1 and 2.8161 Leva to £1.

Hi, Just thought i would put all your minds at rest, Ive been to Sun Village, I got back on the 7th of this month, the apartments had only opened on 23rd May. Was very impressed with them. The apartments are off the beaten track but only a 10 min walk to the town centre and 15 to the beach. The aquapark is a 5 min walk away behind the apartments and it is great value for money. I went with my Parents, grandmother, husband and daughter(7) and we all had a brilliant time. Great value for money. If you have kids they provide entertainment by the pool and at night they do a disco and some nights its bingo aswell. Would definately go again. If you want to ask any further questions feel free to ask.

Glad you had a good hol.

Can you tell me a bit more about the sun village, 17 of us are going next july (thats at the moment could be 27 of us !!!), the children range from 8 to 16.

Is there a 'teenager room' with pool table, playstations etc.

You also mentioned games around the pool, we are used to thomson superfamily hotels, is it like that - do they do water polo, quizzes, basketball, lawn dart, skittles, football etc ?

Also what is the entertainment like in the evening is it geared towards the little ones ?

What is the entertainment in 'town' like are there many bars with kids entertainment as well, like quizzes, playstations etc. Is there crazy golf courses etc. Any recommendations for places to eat ?

Also, have they got safety deposit boxes in rooms, also do you know if the 2 bed rooms are in the same block as the 1 bed rooms ?

Sorry to bombard you with all this, but would love to know what you thought.

Thanks so much, look forward to your reply.
Cheers
Debbie

their is 3 blocks A B C we were in block A which is a mixture of 1 and two bedrooms. Their isnt a games room nowhere to put one, no pool table even some of the lads found a bit of grass to play football.
entertainment wasnt up to much maybe polo in the pool or french bowles and tee-shirt painting for little ones their was a parrot show one afternoon bit rubish and a bulgarian night which the entertainers got dressed up but was good. Not a lot for teenagers but their probably will be in sunny beach but we always got back at our apartments early.

From reports by returning posters, the flash floods were, as predicted, a faint (but mostly enjoyable) memory by the following day.

Hi Julie,
Just wondering if you (or anyone else who knows), could tell us if there is a security presence at Sun Village? Also, are there any lifeguards or the like by the pool? Many thanks, Lorraine  :D

hi all just returned from sun village i can confirm that most apartmnts had toasters or a grill . most have air con and are very spacious.
not much to do for older kids/teens as the complex is geared for the under 8s for daytime entertainment.
very little goes on in the evenings at sun village so most people went out into the main square and surrounding areas of sunny beach.
the roads leading to sun village are very rough with no lighting which can frighten a few people when walking back from the main square.
beach approx 15 min walk, centre approx 10 min walk by cutting through the nearby hotels. there are quite a few teething problems with the rooms most had leaking boilers, fixtures coming of the walls and doors that would not lock properly. safety deposit boxes are available in main reception at a cost of approx £2 per day.
the pool is nice with seperate kids section but was often dirty and full of towels that had been left on sunbeds overnight removed and thrown in the pool by various guests. to get a sunbed here you have to be very sharp.
staff are not very helpful and are only polite when it comes to paying your bar bill waiting for their tips.
rooms also have a minibar which is quite reasonable and is cheched regular and emptied on the day you leave.
will be returning to sunny beach in the near future but not to sun village.
