The hotel is featured on a number of websites - I booked with TR, but I did look at Thomas Cook and Monarch holiday prices for this hotel.
For the price we paid, we weren't expecting caviar, cava or smoked salmon - I know Torremolinos like the back of my hand and I knew where the hotel was situated, and instead of paying Malaga City hotel prices (where we originally planned to stay) - we thought this would be a good alternative to mix activities during the week.
My main holiday comes around on the 2nd July in a 4* hotel, costing a hell of a lot more than this quick break.
However regardless of the price paid, I don't expect to have a dodgy bath in a 3 star hotel in Spain, in this day and age.
And food, chose how basic it is or the lack of choice being presented - There is no excuse for it not being cooked correctly and I don't expect it to be luke-warm or the restaurant resembling a glorified self- service works canteen with only a salt and pepper pot on the table for breakfast.
I know it didn't cause us any hardship to pick up a couple of knives and forks from out of the baskets, but that's not the point, some poor beggars are going to be paying a lot more than we did and won't be expecting to set their own breakfast table. The evening meal table was set with cutlery.
IMO:You shouldn't have to be doing that in a 3 * rated hotel, never in a million years - and if ever there was a restaurant waiting for a visit from Mr & Mrs Nora Virus - this is one!.
Amazingly (or maybe not) that a number of websites are advertising this hotel with incorrect information and being allowed to let's say ....be economical with the truth.
Such as...
"The hotel is ideally located a short distance from the beach" - Actually it's about 800 metres or 8/10 minute stroll to the bottom of Avda Riviera.
And also this little gem.... "5 minutes from the town centre".
Torremolinos town centre is 2 train stops away, it goes Los Alamos, La Colina, Torremolinos - so it might be 5 minutes if you're Usain Bolt, otherwise it's 5 minutes on a train or a taxi.
Another one - "a superior accommodation in beautiful Torremolinos. Centrally located for all the shops, bars, nightlife of Torremolinos and just nine kilometres from Malaga".
It's situated in a residential area virtually on the border/boundary of Torremolinos and where Malaga city boundary starts and apart from 2 street bars, a supermarket and a pharmacy around the corner from the hotel, there is absolutely nothing around the hotel.
Down on the paseo maritimo there are some nice chiringuitos in Los Alamos and some great tapas.- not much English being spoken in this area.
Or this little mistake
"Hotel is located in the popular resort of Torremolinos just 850m from the beautiful Playamar beach on the Costa del Sol in Spain".
Well, they got the distance to the beach correct, only it's the wrong beach. It's Los Alamos beach. Playamar beach is further along heading towards Torremolinos town centre.
I've done a review, I think Phil is working on adding my photos, - obviously I've had to cut and condense the review down to the main points, but I feel a rant coming on now in the CDS forum.
