hi....thanks for replies. :tup ...was sat having a mini panick after I posted....hoped someone would have a little gem of info...and Id go buy a new bag ....had to go into work last night....and as was stuffing stuff in the bag I use for work the clouds parted and the sun came out :D .....it suddenlt dawned on me that he had used the bad Ive been using for work for thomascook last year....my old work bag had fell to bits and Id started using that bag instead not long afterwards....its a small mans holdall and is 36 x 25 x 23...a bit smaller than the regulation one but ideal to get all he needs and wants in....so panic over...turfed all the junk out of it I take to work and his stuff is sorted into it now....

natalie....where do they weigh your hand luggage...at the main check in desk with your hold luggage or at the gate before you board the plane....cant remember what happened last year....tweetie

by the time the lads get to the gates they would be lighter ....they will have munched some :rofl

Hi, I'm flying to Sanford from Manchester on the 6th of August (TCX092K/L). When I booked was told it was 33" pitch and seat back entertainment. When my seats the layout was 3x3x3 so thought that all was good and booked 2 row of 3 . Went on to TC website today and I hadn't book the meals and the layout has changes to 3x3x3 and 2x4x2! and our seats have change to roughly the same area but now 3 rows of 2. Phone TC and they say that the plane has not changed! and is a A330-300 398y and that all the seat have 29" pitch and no seat back entertainment.

So can anyone please confirm that this aircraft will be 29" pitch throughout as the guide on this site says that the forward cabin has 32" pitch as if they are I will try and change my booking.

They have also reduced the select you seat to £10 per flight from £16 when I booked :( . so 6x6x2 = £72 less then I Paid not happy.

Also can one use a netbook on these flights. The last time I flew TC they said not laptops, phones in flight mode, games consoles could be used.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Welcome onboard :tup
You'll find detailed aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). Your flights have unfornately been changed to an A333 (OY-VKI). You'll find details under the short haul section on the What Aircraft? guide for TCX. You can use a laptop, but you need to make sure any wireless devices are disabled and CD/DVD drives can only be used in the cruise. Games consoles have always been permitted, apart from at take off and landing.

Thanks for the reply Dazbo.

I've had a look at the guide, but can't see A333 (OY-VKI) listed! Can you tell me the seat pitch please?

I thought laptops were ok if wan is disabled.

Thanks Again

Sorry,

This I've worked it out. Is it the A330-300 ? If so can you confirm that it's 32" pitch in the front 11 rows please. Thomas Cook thinks it 29" throughout!

Hi Darren,

Could you possibly tell me the seat lay out ie: 3 - 3 or 4 -2- 4 on our aircraft going to Palma please.

Flight no's TCX 832K outbound LGW - PMI 26/7/10
TCX 233L inbound PMI - LGW 31/7/10

We haven't flown with these before so I am curious.

Also, we have to pick up our tickets at Gatwick, again haven't had to do this before as always booked in advance. I assume their office is easy to find at 3 am in the morning!!! :tongue

Thank you so much for your help.

debdon,

LGW-PMI-LGW (TCX832K/233L) are operated by a Boeing 757-200. This is a narrow bodied aircraft configured 3-3. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

far2812,

Please quote flight numbers when requesting aircraft information as there are often multiple flights. This ensures we get the correct information for you. MAN-PUJ-MAN (TCX048K/L) are operated by an Airbus A330-200. you'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Hi,

New to the board, but it looks amazing! Perfect for some pre-departure fact findings! :)

I have just booked my honeymoon for my wife and I. We are going to Montego Bay on the 27th September from LGW at 1250 and returning back to Gatwick on the 4th at 1850. I think we are on an Airbus 330 but do you know which one it will be?

Plus will the outbound be the plane's first flight of the day or will it be following on from somewhere else?

Many thanks for all your help in advance.

Welcome onboard and congratulations for your upcoming wedding :tup
LGW-MBJ-LGW (TCX077K/L) are indeed operated by an Airbus A330-200. It'll be one of the former My Travel aircraft (G-MLJL / MDBD / OMYT). We can't say which exact one this far out as they swap and change all the time. It makes little differene in any case, they are all the same inside. The aircraft will operate a long haul flight before yours, arriving in Gatwick that morning. It generally operates LGW-Cancun-LGW (TCX087K/L) prior to your flight arriving at 0905 Monday morning, then on to your flight departing at 1250. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Thanks for the quick response! We've chosen our seats already and it looks like a very quiet flight - so hopefully lots of space!

Looking forward to trying the downstairs toilet! :D

Just a quick question for someone who has recently flown with Thomas cook regarding hand luggage.
How strict are they on size. We have some new small suitcases which are only just over the size limits. We are talking a couple of cm.
Thanks for any info

larry58,

Thomas Cook, in my experience, are the strictest of the charter airlines with regards to luggage weight and size. If the bags you have are within weight limts and only just over the size, if you can squash them a little you may get away with it. However if they are the rigid type and won't fit in the measuring baskets, you run the risk of them being refused travel. The reason is there's only so much room to store bags in the cabin. If everyone arrived with a bag that's only just over the size limit, space would be a problem.
