Your flight will be operated on a Boeing 767-300 aircraft. I do not have access to the information with lists if the aircraft will be Thomson or First Choice aircraft but I will do my best to describe the seating.

Thomson 763:
Premium - 2-3-2
Economy - 2-4-2

First Choice 763:
Premium - 2-3-2
Economy - 2-3-2

You can find more aircraft information and pictures on What Aircraft Guide

Further to Z.J.C's post, your flights are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find more aircraft details on our What Aircraft? guide.

z.j.c,

It's probably something to do with the schedule changes because of the swine flu. TOM196/7 should be operated by an ex-FCA, but it's been operated by ex-TOM since the flights recommenced to Mexico. I would assume it's the aircraft positioning as it's not the normal aircraft for that flight (and it's based in MAN). They're only using it due to the higher density configuration.

Thanks for that I was worrying they were routing us via Gatwick then! I hope they change it back to the ex-FCA :( I was looking forward to a ride on one before they dissapear into Thomson aircraft. I hope they change it back closer to the time I fly. Thanks for the info.

They already are Thomson Airways aircraft, they have been since Nobember 2008! It might say First Choice on the side, but they are operated by Thomson Airways.

I know what I meant. I was thinking about them repainting them etc I would hate to miss a photo op with the 767 in FCA colours for my personal collection thats what I was thinking in my head. Since your more experanced than me do you think they will change it back as to be operated by a Ex-FCA?

Thanks

z.j.c,

I can only go on the information I have infront of me. The flights were originally scheduled to be operated by an ex-FCA but the swine flu problem, it changed things. I would assume they'll revert back to the original schedule once things settle down again, probably over the next week.

Thanks Darren for your reply.
I have now booked window seats. Should I have been given a reference confirmation or confirmation of any sorts.
Thanks a lot.

Lipgloss Lady,

Your booking details are held on their central booking system. The check-in agent will have everything when you check-in for your flight. Have a great holiday, I'm off to the Isle of Man for lunch tomorrow!!

Hi, we're booked on a Thomson flight from BHX to Palma 3rd August 6.45 Tom7106 and have requested seating together for our family of 6. I booked the holiday online and didn't get the option of booking window seats like I usually do so I phoned and was told it was too early to request this (phoned around Sept last year) and today when I paid the balance of the holiday I was told it was a different department I would have to phone to enquire about window seats.

Does anyone know if you can request window seats with Thomson when you have paid for seating together? Also what is the seating configuration on the aircraft we will be flying on? We go 8 weeks tomorrow.

Thanks in advance for any replies :tup

You can pre-book specific seats at a cost of £6 per person per flight. Details here. This service only becaome available in May this year. BHX-PMI-BHX (TOM7106/7) are operated by a Boeing 757-200 that are configured 3-3 so chances are you'll be assigned 2x 3's (with a window seat on each of the 3's). You'll find further aircraft details on our What Aircraft? guide.

And from first hand experience, I can tell you that you are in for a VERY uncomfortable flight. Our oubound 'confinement' which was from Manchester took seven and threeequarter hours due to us being loaded on the plane whilst refuelling to save time (it was already late). The plane slowed down due to turbulence so took longer to get there. The only provided meal was 'breakfast' which was a kind of mush which was supposed to be scrambled egg and mash, but it did have a sausage in it. Some of the TV monitors were distant or out of view too.
Fortunately the return flight was on schedule and took the normal six and a half hours.
