To TOM-BY etc, and possibly Dazbo,
We are off to Sharm in a little over 4 weeks from LGW and from a previous query, I know we're on an ex-Thomsonfly 767. I also saw the new IFE listing posted over the weekend and was wondering if we are on a seat back screen flight?
Cheekily, could I also ask if there is a choice of film as I might want to watch one film, whilst 'er indoors watches another.
Thanks in advance.
Do you know your flight numbers as there are several flights per week? We'll be able to tell you the aircraft registration the day before your flight and whether it'll have seat back IFE. Aircraft are rotated all the time so it's impossable to say this far in advance. 4 of 6 aircraft have seat back IFE so there's a 66% chance. The way I understand it, you'll have two films to watch played one after the other on a broadcast only system. You won't be able to choose although you'll still be able to choose the Tv programmes and access the games.

Flights both way with Thomson were excellent. I do like the new Recaro seats but feel they don't offer a lot of lower back support. The 757-200 I flew on looked well maintained though the picture of the overheard centre aisle IFE was poor, the radio stations were entertaining enough though.
Didn't get a meal but I thought the snack and drink prices were reasonable and cheaper than some competitors.
Question to DAZBO and others, noted that on my ticket on the way home that the Iberia handling agnets were still using the old Britainnia BY codes on the tickets and green luggage identifiers. It was a nice blast from the past though
BY/TOM are the standard 2/3 figure prefixs for Thomson Airways. They won't change. Some handling agents use the 2 figure, most the 3 figure.
Darren
flight is TOM652.
Hopefully, we get a couple of movies in as we did on the route to Dalaman last year.

In that case, post your flight details the day before you fly and we'll let you know the aircraft to expect on the day and whether it'll have seat back IFE or not.
Darren
hoping not a 757
Welcome onboard
Aircraft type depends on when you are flying. LGW-AYT-LGW (TOM718/9) are operated by an Airbus A320-200 up to 25/09/2009, then it's an A321-200 from 02/10/2009 until 30/10/2009. For further aircraft information, refer to our What Aircraft? guide.

TOM 0051 MLE - LGW 9th January 2010
Many thanks

TOM348/9 will be operated by an ex-First Choice Boeing 767-300 aircraft. The seating on this aircraft will be 2-3-2 throughout the cabin.
There will be seat back IFE with a selection of Movies, TV Programs and Games.
More information can be found on the What Aircraft Guide

LGW-MLE-LGW (TOM050/1) should be operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. Refer to our What Aircraft? guide or more information.
