Beckijs,
No worries, it's what we're here for
I'm off to catch a flight in an hour so see you all in 2 weks
Happy holidays
Darren
Lucky you darren, have a great time.
Booked fuerteventura from Manchester dec 2nd. Thomson 8am.
Myself and 2 children age 16 and 9.
9 yr old is disabled, Down Syndrome/Autism/adhd.
We havn't flown together before and I havn't flown for 20 years.
I am trying to pre plan everything and have asked for early boarding and we are checking luggage the day before to try and avoid the queues.
I've asked for extra leg room as disabled daughter has Hypotonia and together with the low muscle tone she has spasms and requires leg massage. She also needs help with toileting etc.
The autism and ADHD make her very anxious and that's why I need to plan and ask many questions.
1. How do we choose the right seat for her on the aircraft ( can we do this ) ?
2. Is there a disabled toilet with extra room in for changing her etc ?
3. I will of course provide as many activities for her as possible ( DVD player with spongebob, her favourite but only 2, 1/2 hr battery ) but is there likely to be IFE on a screen in front of us ?
4. She does not need a wheelchair but owing to her disabilities and learning difficulties, I need to hold her constantly so even retreiving luggage may be troublesome. My 16 yr old would have to take care of most of the luggage, Can I request help with this ?
5. If I make extra arrangements like early boarding etc. does this apply both journeys ?
I am sorry to ask so many questions but I don't know where to start.
Thank you
Pennylane
I am going to do my best to answer all your questions but some questions I may not be able to provide as detailed a answer as you request.
1. You can prebook a seat on the aircraft for a certain amount but if you have asked for medical seats they will be located near the front of the aircraft especially with her being young as she can not sit in the emergency exit seats. You should not need to worry about this but you can always prebook it if you want too.
2. All the toilets on the aircraft are the same size so I am afraid it will be a squeeze no matter what toilet you go in.
3. If you are seated on the front seats of the aircraft which will be a Airbus A320 you may have a screen directly in front of you but this will only display the film the crew choose and maybe some tv programs after the film has finished. If they seat you anywhere else on the aircraft the IFE will be provided by drop down LCD screens every 3-4 seats.
4. You can ask for someone at the airports to help you with the luggage, in the UK I can not see this being a problem but in the foreign airports they are not always reliable so it may take some requesting before you can some help but im sure one of the foreign handling agents will help.
5. Yes it should apply on both if you make this clear when you call up. Thomson will then get in touch with there handling agents in Futerventura. I would also mention this to the reps at the airport when your on your way home just to make sure its all ok.
Usually people who have requested medical help board the aircraft first and leave the aircraft last and are seated in Row 1 which is dedicated Medical Seats.
I hope my answers have provided you with all the information you require, if you need any more information just give us a quick post.

What would the baggage allowance be with Thomsonfly (economy) to Barbados from Birmingham to join a Princess cruise, what would the flying time be, and what's the time difference please?
I've put some requests in by telephone and the thomson call centre person said she'd noted them but I might write to them and request a written reply for peace of mind.
I'm sure I saw the inside of an aircraft on this site somewhere so I can se the seating on the
Airbus A320 but I can't find the thread at present, you couldn't posty me a link could you please.
Thanks for all your help.

Im not too sure where you will find a interior picture but the What Aircraft Guide has information about the aircraft including seating plans.

As you can imagine all these pictures are difficult to get together sometimes so these are a real help. I've also got a better idea of where we might be seated, too, thanks.

Hi Hansi,
You'll be flying with Thomson Airways, the baggage allowance should be detailed in the princess brochure it is different from the usual Thomson/First Choice allowance as the flight is onbehalf of a different holiday company. Flying time is arond 8hrs 30 from Birmingham and time difference is five hours in the winter (between end of Oct-mid March) If you let me know what date your travelling, I can let you know where your aircraft is comming in from, so you can track any delays.
I'm due to fly out from LGW to MBA on 5th October, flight number is TOM076 at 19.45pm. Can anyone tell me where this flight comes in from, so I can see if there have been any delays?
Thanks for the help

Many thanks for the tip. I hope nothing changes, otherwise it means my ages spent on the phone selecting my specific seat numbers will go out the window
We are off to Cape Verde in October, and have just received a letter from Thomsons. It says that "following a review of their flying programme, our flight has been affected by a change of aircraft. Unfortunately as a result of this change, we will no longer be able to provide all aspects of the standard Thonsonfly plus offering, these being 33" pitch seats and seat back entertainment". What i'd like to know please is if i've paid extra for the above, and should I be entitled to some money back? Thanks in advance.
The Simple Answer Will Be No, The Price You Paid Was For The Flight And You Have Not Paid Directly For The Services Of Thomson Airways (Thomsonfly) Plus. Also They Have In Their Terms And Conditions A Paragraph That Stated That They Are Allowed To Change Aircraft.
Your Flight Will Be Operated By A Boeing 757-200 (With Wingles Depending On Where You Are Flying From). On Which They Have Been Scheduled For The Whole Season
