Hi,
Does anyone know what meals are being served longhaul for Nov/Dec?

Thanks

"but aviation logistics is a little more complicated than that I'm afraid!"

I don't doubt it is - but surely this can not be such a big deal when you hear of planes boarding early and some boarding late

HuddersfieldTourist,

Passengers can't be accepted for boarding until dispatch haved given clearance. For example fuel may still be being uploaded which requires doors to be prepared and adequately staffed, the cabin to be secure and cleaned, cargo uploaded to ensue the aircraft is balanced, etc. There's a lot to think about before passengers are accepted and are generally the last thing otherwise you get upset passengers that are sat in seats and wondering why the aircraft didn't push back 5 minutes ago!

It works for me!! There's a new disclaimer when you click on external links. After you've clicked ok in acceptance, you should have a new window open with the external link. If you still have problems, right click on the link and copy, then past the url in to your web browser.

Thanks for the explanation Darren - Perhaps I would be best doing a couple of days work shadowing at an airport and it will be all clearer to me !!

Hi 1st time using this forum :)

Myself and partner are flying out to Florida on the 6th Dec. His 1st time to the US. R flight is TOM060 returning TOM061. Just wondered if ne1 knew what kinda plane this would be and also what the in flight meal & entertainment will be?

Also can we now book our seats to ensure that we are together on the flight? We are flying Thomson due to an error with our travel agent not booking our Virgin flights in time and meaning we would have had to pay almost £100 more pp for the Virgin flights!! I know the baggage allowance was 2 * 25kg but flying Thomson is only 20kg :( can i buy more allowance & if so how much is it in advanced comapred to the airport?

sorry so many questions..... :whoops

Vicks you are very lucky the thomson flight is better than Virgin more leg room 33" pitch Virgin 31" if your lucky.

Hopefully not too off topic. But in the early days of Virgin Atlantic when they were really trying to break the mould of transatlantic travel we flew LHR-LAX economy and it was like a business class experience without the extra leg room.Great food free flowing drinks.

Amazing flight there and back. Now I would have to say a longhaul Thomsonfly flight in premium economy is better.

hi darren,

just wondering if you could tell me which aircraft would be doing man-ace tom2748, and ace-man2749. (22nd nov - 29th nov)
we have prebooked seats and on the return flight, we have row 26, which could be the back row on some of their aircraft i think!

cheers, claire.

 Hi everyone my first post here.

We are travelling LGW TOM030 to MBJ on 8th Dec return MBJ TOM031 to LGW on 22nd Dec. Can you confirm for me what plane it is.
When I logged in to select seating I found it to be a 2-3-2 seat plan (Not been to Jamaica before but usually Carribean longhaul in Dec every year) planes are usually 2-4-2. It even looked like there was no premium seating.
We had been seated in 13CD. I have moved us to 22 AB I like a window & I don't want to be on the wings. (my husband says I'm frightened of missing something) ;)
The seat plan showed the wings to be quite up front so 22 was a couple of seats behind the wings & the first available seats nearer the front of the plane, usually we are around 18,19 or 20.
After later seeing the seating plans on the Thomson website I now have the feeling either way 2-3-2 or if the plane gets changed to 2-4-2 we will end up being on the wings & another awful thought if I remember correct is 22 doesn't have a window.

Your expert knowledge will be most appreciated even if only to depress me. Now the seats are selected you can't get back onto the seating plan.

Thanks.

we are not flying until May 28th but does anyone know whether Thomsonfly use X FCA or TOM planes from Gatwick to La Romana?
I looked at reserving seating but resent paying £25 each...then I thought with drinks, entertainment upgrades, I could upgrade the 4 of us to Premium £180 pp??
We have flown FCA premier star and this was good value for money?
Any one have any thoughts on this or whether the price ever comes down?
