Yes you can, as they won't lift anything over 23 kg. It's covered on their website under baggage allowance.

Am I allowed to post the link? Sorry if not.
Thank you.
Hoping that someone might be able to let me know what aircraft we will be flying on:
Oubound -Glasgow to Cancun - 21st May - TOM392
Inbound - Cancun to Glasgow - 4th June TOM393
Also is it a Thomson aircraft or an Ex First Choice.
Many thanks in advance
They definitley won't carry any bag over 23kg, we have just come back from cancun and they were making people take things out of the cases if they were over. be warned.
GLA-CUN-GLA (TOM392/3) are operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER (winglets). It's likely to be a former First Choice aircraft, but we won't know for sure until May. If you remind us before you go, we'll be able to confirm it for you. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (see below).

Thanks Darren, the info is much appreciated.
Hi,does anyone know why Thomson wont accept the new National Identity Card as id instead of a passport when other airlines such as Easyjet And BmiBaby will?
Simply because Thomson Airways only operate international flights and a passport is required to travel to the destinations they offer. They don't operate domestic / UK flights where you only need photographic ID.
Darren
Cheers Helen
The National Identity Card is not a replacement for a passport, isn't mandatory and at present, issued only to a select criteria of people (until 2012). A passport is still a requirment when travelling to most places around the world and a good proportion of where Thomson Airways fly to. There's still a lot of controversy over the introduction of the NiD card with the general public voting against it while the security services seem adamant on impose it on us at a cost of £30 regardless. It's in the interests of some airlines to accept the NiD for travel where only photographic ID is required or where member states accept the NiD and conforms to their policy. I personally can see advantages and disadvantages of it (would make my job easier!) but I can see the negative sides and why the general public are against it. More airlines may allow it in the future, but at present, the passport is seen as the primary document for travel. After 2012 when the NiD become available to all, airlines may change policy but you'll still need a passport to enter/return from most places.

Please could someone tell what type of aircraft I will be travelling on
Flying to Cancun from Bristol on15.5.2010 (TOM 518)
Returning on 29.5.2010 (TOM 519)
and if possible whether it is old first choice or Thomsons ?
Thank you
Welcome onboard
BRS-CUN-BRS (TOM518/9) are operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER. The flight operates outbound via Manchester. It's too early to know for sure if it'll be a former Thomsonfly or First Choice aircraft, but it would normally be a former First Choice. If you remind us the week before your flight, we'll be able to confirm it for you. There aren't any 'old' aircraft, they are all of a similar vintage. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (see below).
Darren
Thanks for the welcome and your help it is much appreciated
Can any of the experts tell me what aircraft Thomson Airways are using on this flight, also is it ex Thomson Fly or First Choice?
27th July 10 - MAN-MUH TOM840, TOM841 on return.
Thanks guys
MAN-MUH-MAN (TOM840/1) are operated by a Boeing 737-800 (winglets). You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (see below). Only Thomsonfly operated these prior to the merger.
Darren
Thank you Darren. Our friends are flying from London on flight TOM788 LGW-MUH on the same date do you know what type they will fly on??
Quick qiuestion. Is the plane TOM670/1 an ex Fist Choice? Just booked up this morning to fly off to Punta Cana on the 4th May in premium and we are hoping we have got the ex First Choice plane as we prefer the cabin!!
Also roughly when will the films be known for this time of year?
Thanks for all your help
As the summer schedule doesn't start until 1st May, we wont know for sure whether an ex-TOM or ex-FCA will be assigned to your flight until that week. Ex-TOM are currently assigned, but it may change between now and then. IFE listings will be released on 1st May.
Darren
Thanks again.
