Yes it's definitely "including".
I have just booked a flight to Mexico and will be booking my accommodation directly with the hotel. I haven't done this before and would like a recommendation on independent insurance which will cover me for things like natural disasters such as hurricane if I have to cut short my trip or even delayed on return.
I have just had an email reply from the insurance company(all clear) who say it's excluding.
Direct Travel have a natural catastrophe option.
Cheers I'll take a look
I know I should contact the Company concerned, but I would like to know if any members had any experience of this, good or bad.

As you will now have to declare it when you next apply for travel insurance, this company may be worth trying:-

We booked the Insurance through Age Concern, but the policy is with Fortis
Insurance Limited.

Fortis is a very good policy, but I found them very expensive if you have PEMC's.
She has the annual cover which has just been renewed and the premium cost is a pound less than last year and she does not need to be screened by the insurance again as her condition is improving and because they are aware of it.

They will be making an insurance claim when they get home, but is there something they need to do in the resort before they leave. Do they need to contact the insurance company from out there, or do they need a letter explaining what's happened e.t.c? Any help would be appreciated.
But don't expect everything to be covered. They're unlikely to get the drinks paid for. Loss of the Cardiff hotel itself is probably not covered but if they land back too late to get home a replacement might be. Possibly also extra car parking charges. If they pay anything out it's more likely to be a lump sum based on length of delay which it's why it's vital to get the home landing time in the letter.
Thanks Steve - I'll let her know to make sure they get some sort of letter, stating the length of delay and landing time.

Helen on a package tour the rep will issue the delay letter as standard. When my son had a 11 hour delay going out to Tenerife from Cardiff a couple of years ago, he was given the letter without asking.
Good - that's one less thing to worry about Shirley
Lou will need to check her insurance policy, but they usually only pay out after a delay of 12 hours or more and then only around £20 per 12 hours.
Their delay was nearly 36 hours, so I would expect them to pay something out!
We have annual travel insurance, which is renewed in August. If I am going on holiday in October would this years insurance cover us if anything happened before August that meant we had to cancel?
If your policy only ends in August this year and you need to cancel before the end of this years policy then yes you should be covered providing your policy covers cancellations should anything happen after the new policy is renewed then the new policy will cover you.
