Just looked on TR site for a holiday to turkey. I noticed you have to add on your transfers which makes sense but it had an option to add on hold bags for each adult at £10 per bag?? The flights were with Thomsons. Does this mean that to take a bag on the aircraft I need to pay £10pp extra?? Its not very clear if that is for extra baggage or your baggage all together? It didn't say extra baggage....
that I was told flyglobespan was going bust yet their flights are still being used??
I have seen this on Travel Republic a couple of times with Thomson flights. It means you have to pay an extra £10 each if you want to check-in a suitcase (which you probably will if it's holiday rather than just a short break). I think Thomson allow 10kg for hand luggage, so it's up to you if you think you can manage with just 10kg for a whole holiday.greenshoes wrote:it had an option to add on hold bags for each adult at £10 per bag?? As far as I know, Thomson allow 25kg total per passenger, including hand baggage. Personally, I'd rather pay the extra £10 and check-in a 22kg suitcase and just carry a 3kg bag onto the plane - less pain for the shoulder!
Interestingly, if you book a holiday with Thomson and you're on the same flight as those available from Travel Republic, you won't have to pay the extra £10 to check-in a suitcase, it is "built-in" to the cost of the holiday.
Just booked a hotel in Venice with Travel Republic and their price was much less expensive that everybody else. Hope all will be well with it.
Just wanted to say that we used Travelrepublic to book a hotel in Majorca for our recent holiday and all went without a hitch - I handed over my accomodation voucher and we got the rooms we had requested.
I have used travelrepublic on six occassions no problem until last week.we booked a seaview at resort we have been going to for 28years,five times with them.It cost £140 extra but didn't mind as this is what we wanted, would'nt have gone otherwise. No seaviews available on arrival(which was our 38th wedding aniversary)we were gutted to get a apartment with only the back view of the one we should have been in.Even if we get a refund of some sort it won't make up for the dissapionment. There supplier was Medhotels who are owned bt Lastminute .com.I have sung travelrepublics praises to many people.Never again though, they have really let me down. Not only that the frontline seaviews have been booked by another company for the whole of the summer so just what Travelrepublic are selling is beyond me.They even advertise properties that I know for a fact have been closed for two years.
Received acknowledgement of our letter of complaint today and that they are investigating so I guess we will have to see how long that takes. Will post the results when we get them.
Booked a hotel with Travel Republic last night for the end of August in Ibiza. I seen the same hotel on another site this morning for £25 cheaper. I contacted Travel Republic under thier 24 hour price match promise and they agreed to repay the £25. Fair play to them.
Fantastic good to know things do as they are meant to do. Price match!!
with ryanair but cant get through to them has anyone else recieved separate email from ryanair when flight booked through t r
Regards Maryb.
We used Travel Republic in June for a long weekend in Sa Coma, Majorca. No problems at all. Emailed the hotel with a request for low floor, pool view, which we got. Price was good too.
We have just booked with TR for next month they were the cheapest.I was unaware they dont send tickets so is it just a case of showing your confirmation email to the desk at check in to recieve them ?
Hi silverblack, you are correct. All you have to do is print off the Hotel Voucher and the second one for your records. The voucher may be a Med Hotels one - or another company, but the hotels are well used to this system now, so please do not worry. We have used Travel Republic many times and never experienced any problems Have a wonderful holiday. All best - Jenny x
Thanks Jen will get it all printed off
However I have one problem, I booked my transfers with travel republic and my transfers voucher has my old hotel on it. I asked her for a new voucher and she said she would put a note on the system. It wasn't until I was off the phone that I started to panic that I get dropped off at my old hotel and not my new one as the voucher has the wrong property! I think I should phone and ask for a new voucher for peace of mind
We have just returned from 3 weeks in Turkey booking through Travel Republic (also booked transfers through them). I must say that as well as paying less than anyone else in the hotel it was faultless. I know that they do not issue tickets but you just present the email voucher. Also the hotel contacted the local transfer company used by T/R for us to arrange times of pick up.
I think I am just jinxed as my flights have been changed now and I had just got my transfers with them sorted so now I will have to phone again and make sure my transfers will be there for my new flight time and that they are taking me to the correct apartments!
for any problems and he stressed all these minor problems are really easy to resolve with regards my transfers. He stated
due to it being very very busy at the moment they will take 4 days to have new transfer vouchers to me with my
correct flight time and new hotel name.
TR have been great and really helpful with my accomodation over booking and flight change, both of which are not TR's fault. I am still confident with them.
