Heres some more very sad pics a friend sent me,although different pics ,it all seems the same area.
my god can it get any worse for th epoor old beach
Very very sad, our favourite shack is Calamari which is at this end of the beach. However, anyone going for the first time please dont be put off by these photos, there is still a wonderful spacious beach from Candolim to Calangute, with plenty of shacks to choose from.
so much more to enjoy in goa
I would lay a bet that the burst rubber "sausages" and other rubbish left from their failed attempts to save the beach, will simply be left where they are and no attempt will be made to tidy up the mess for the fast approaching new season, any takers ? Alan

Guaranteed! This is what I hate about Goa.... they never clear up. Pathetic.
I despair at Indian foolhardiness. This beach was beautiful and quiet. I remember being there is Oct 2005 and it was still a good beach, but by Feb 2006 it had all changed. I wonder how much it will effect the big hotels down there? Does Mr Kingfisher have any influence, although I guess he has a big garden and will build elsewhere if he has too. Does anyone have any info about how much time the Fort has left?

I cannot look at those photographs for too long without tearing over.
The destruction of Sinquerim beach will only intesify the already overcrowded areas of Candolim, Calangute and Baga, more beach beds, ugly parasols, shacks cheek by jowl. Apart from the environmental disaster, this is not good news for anyone seeking uncongested relaxation on this once lovely, unspoilt and unpopulated stretch of coastline.
