I think we are worrying about nothing. My husband just phoned the manager George and he admitted that at the start of the season there were a few problems to do with the electrics and some last minute building work, and that there were a few unhappy people complaining, but he has assured us that there are between 400-500 people there at the moment and he has had no complaints and that everyone is very happy, and that all the work is finished. I think there is a brand new block as well, so it is a lot bigger that before. So, again, we will wait and see what recent travelers think when they return! Bye for now. (feeling less anxious now )

We go 13-20 June and have hired a car for the week from the airport. I will report fully!!!

We actually have our own apartment in Cyprus, but fancied an A/I in a different place so it can really feel like a holiday! Just doesn't seem like it when we visit there.

Any more info on the Vasia Beach now the building work is completed? Has the hotel obtained its 5* status now the renovations have been completed? Im off in 3 weeks.

Do you know roughly how much it would be in a taxi to Malia from Sissi, is there any watersports around or would we have to go to Malia for this?

Hi Paul, a taxi to Malia would be about €10. As for watersports, not much in Sissi I'm afraid, you would needto go to Malia or Stalis

Hi we are booked into the Vasia Beach for two weeks from 21st July
I can't believe what I have been reading as before we booked all the reviews we read where excellent. Anyone travelling before us would you
please be kind enough to let us have your views when you return.

Thanks for the info, i know you said in your previous messages that the vasia beach was open following completion of the building work, just wondering now the summer season is here if it is fully operational as i will be coming out next month, may even call into your cafe in sissi

Vasia Beach has about 500 guests now, I am not sure if the Gymnasium is finished, but hey, you are on holiday, have a rest!!

Thanks everyone, it does seem we may be worrying over nothing, Keith at the Calypso has been very helpful with updates, we must all pop in and say hello. I'm sure now the holiday season is in full swing all the teething problems will be sorted. There are a few people going out soon who will be providing lots of info, so fingers crossed its all good news.

This is a great site to be kept updated. We've been following reviews on this and other sites since we booked in January - let's hope all the recent problems have been resolved.

It's great to know there will be a few of you out there when we visit - we arrive on 25th July for two weeks.

For information, I too emailed the hotel (twice) but have had no response - maybe they need some more time it was two months ago!

This hotel has now been up graded to a five * all inclusive, the hotel and apartments which are all inclusive are beautiful and all been re-furbished, while we were staying furniture was still being delivered to the hotel,
The food was quite good although I have had better, I would not like to go to this hotel in high season as I don't think they will be able to cope with everyone for meals, as it wasn't very well organised while I was there which was the begining of May.
I stayed in the hotel and found it to be quite noisey after 11pm, all inclusive drinks stopped at 11pm but you could buy drinks after 11pm. if you went to bed in the hotel it was very noisey from the bar area.
The all inclusive drinks which were local did not taste very good.
I would recommend going to their italian restaurant which you can use once during your stay.
When I booked the holiday I was recommended to get a taxi which I was told would cost fifteen euros, but be warned you will pay forty five euros each way, you would be better getting the bus provided by your holiday firm.
Entertainment was also very poor, would recommend this hotel for sun worshippers looking for quiet holiday.
