I feel gutted after reading your review. I thought that if they had been given their 5* grading, that this hotel would be quite special? There have been some reviews on Trip advisor, from visitors who are actually there now, and they sound really positive about the food, rooms etc. Do you think that they are a little unorganised because it's sort of the start of the season, what with all the work they have done recently as well? I booked direct with the hotel, so I won't have a leg to stand on if it's not up to scratch, I feel quite worried now! I knew about the taxi fare because I enquired at the hotel, and they did tell me 40 euros. What was wrong with the food? It sounded really nice on the website? I go in July, so I hope they have got their act together by then. Thanks for the review, and I hope you still enjoyed your holiday.
The food was quite good although I have had better, I would not like to go to this hotel in high season as I don't think they will be able to cope with everyone for meals, as it wasn't very well organised while I was there which was the begining of May.
I stayed in the hotel and found it to be quite noisey after 11pm, all inclusive drinks stopped at 11pm but you could buy drinks after 11pm. if you went to bed in the hotel it was very noisey from the bar area.
The all inclusive drinks which were local did not taste very good.
I would recommend going to their italian restaurant which you can use once during your stay.
When I booked the holiday I was recommended to get a taxi which I was told would cost fifteen euros, but be warned you will pay forty five euros each way, you would be better getting the bus provided by your holiday firm.
Entertainment was also very poor, would recommend this hotel for sun worshippers looking for quiet holiday.
I didn't write this, this was from a recent visitor to the hotel.
The rooms are all of an excellent standard. The food was good the first week and terrible for the second week. I suggest you eat out at a couple of the tavernas in Sissi.
Restraunt manager - George - was very grumpy and lacked any customer care but all the other staff were very friendly.
There is an enormous variety of options at each meal sittitng, including lots of veggie stuff eg pasta. The standard of the cooked food is on par with most buffet-type A/I restaurants I've been too. Not too good but acceptable. Tonight is BBQ night - it's taken over the car park.
Bye for now, Marion
Hope your having a wonderfull time! Im flying out next tuesday and cant wait, whats the weather like??
Paul
Wait until you get here and judge for yourself, and then come and tell me what it's really like.
Keith
Weather is good. Warm not hot, with a nice breeze. We arrived yesterday to drizzle and then heavy rain on our drive to the hotel. We hired a car for 145 euros.
BBQ - every Wednesday - was good with huge choice. They'd wheeled out the hot cabinets etc into the car park and we all ate al fresco.
Bye for now, Marion
I totally agree! I feel fine, even though there has been some complaining going on. I am really looking forward to my holiday, and I will come and visit you with my family to say hello. Hope you are keeping busy! Is it really hot over there yet? Thanks again Keith and take care.
Im a bit confused about the weather! on the BBC website it forcasts 31 - 35 degrees over the next 5 days on another it gives 25! Though i mares well get is from the horses mouth with you being out there. Will Call in and have a drink with you next week!!
Kind Regards
Paul @ Nat
Our room was decorated and furnished to a high standard, the bathroom was especially impressive, table top sink, granite floor, bath with shower and also a walk in shower!, fixtures and fittings were of a high standard. There were two rooms separated by opaque sliding doors, two single beds in one room and a fridge (which was partially stocked with beer and soft drinks and very handy to store water in).
The second room was equipped with a queen side bed, remote controlled air con LCD telly and adequate storage for a family of four, French doors led out to a good size balcony which was ideal for late drinks when the kids where asleep ( just nip to the bar free before eleven).
The food was in my opinion was of a high standard with a good selection for both adults and kids. (My wife and I put on at least a stone each). The service was ok in the restaurant the head waiter was very quiet and did not take part in welcoming you, in fact I only heard him speak on very rare occasions. We found at evening meal times we struggled to get a table on a couple of occasions, no assistance was offered by the staff, this only happened a couple of times and a table became available within 5-10 mins max (Although I don't know were all the guests would sit if it rained due to the majority of the tables being by the pool).
The entertainment was good for all inclusive the animation team worked very hard led by Amar, there were four in all, activities were planned throughout the day and evening, whether it be colouring in or playing cards for the kids led by Vickie, or aqua aerobics and yoga Led by Julia, mini disco and karaoke with Mario, there was also quizzes and live music.
There was a weekly barbeque which was of a high standard lovely presented food and lots of it; there was also Greek music and dancing, although I found the Greek music nauseous after two hours.
The two pool where very clean and the grounds where kept immaculate, the staff worked very hard.
The pool bar was busy but you never waited long for a drink due to the quick hands of Nicki and Maria!
I found the beer to be very nice; my wife drank gin and tonic with no complaints.
The pretty town of Sissi was within 5-10 mins walk with a good selection of shops and restaurants. I do recommend you take the train tour which stops just outside the hotel, it takes about 45 mins and gives you a good insight into the surrounding area take your camera because there is some great scenery.
I can say hand on heart we had a great holiday and would not hesitate to recommend or return to the Vasia Beach Hotel

Many thanks for your reveiw. What type of room did you have? I have booked a junior suite for my family. It's sounds like you had a lovely time. Was the hotel full when you stayed? I'm a little concerned about the sitting arrangements as we are going at the busiest time of the year, 21st July, and I know it will be really busy then. Anyway, many thanks again for your feedback.
Hi ann marie, we too had a junior suite. I wouldn`t worry about meal times, we had to wait on 2 occasions only, in lovely settings with a beer, terrible! this was at peak meal time and there was plenty of food to go around. Just relax and enjoy yourself I know you will x
Hi and thanks for all the info. on Vasia beach. We are going later this summer and I am really looking forward to it. Please can you tell me a bit about the gym and spa. What facilities are there and were the treatments expensive?
Many thanks for your reply. I am realy looking forward to the holiday and have every confidence that all will be fine. I'm not a really fussy person on holiday, or like to complain, as long as the rooms are clean, the pool is clean, the bar is full and the food is good I'll be fine!
Thanks again for your review.
I've now updated my personal page for Crete - Sisi with links to the photos
I've also scanned the Spa pricelist as a PDF. I didn't see the gym, but the spa facilities looked very good eg a large thalassotherapy pool with sauna and jacuzzi.
And I've written a review
Phew... Hope this helps you all. Any more questions, just ask.
Marion
Many thanks for all that very useful information! You have worked really hard. Just one query that you may or may not be able to help with, I need to book a taxi to take me and my family to Sissi, but when I go to book, they only accomodate 3 people. Are there any taxi's that take 4 people or will I have to pay extra? How did you go about it? I was thinking of asking Vasia to book me a cab, but I need to find out how much they charge. Many thanks in advance for any help on this one.
Ann
Can't help on taxis, sorry. We hired a car from/to the airport from AthensCars
Unless you want a total chill-out, or are prepared to pay for excursions, I do recommend the use of a car for at least a few days.
Marion
