I'll call you tonight.
Entertainment shows aren't top of my agenda on the ships either, though I have seem some good acts, particularly on a cruise with RSVP/Holland America to Alaska in September 2007.
Re: FOD - went to one on an MSC Cruise - funniest thing ever, turned out that most people attending thought it was something completely different. Ended up being me and my 4 mates who I was travelling with!
Catch you later, Drew
Drew what is an FOD meeting?.
Nick and Phil. can you tell me the benifits of being in a JS as i am still not quite sure.
SUE, where are you , not heard from you for a few days, is everything ok?
Only ten days to go now . great
Tina

junior suites well apart from the bigger room not too much priorty boarding tea and coffe making facilaties better bed linen dove toiletries a free trip around santo damingo on our second week,a nice silver sea pass card oh and you get one extra cruise credit for each cruise so at the end of the three weeks you would have earnt 5 making you a platinum member if you book with RCI again.
see you all soon Nick
Sorry, I've not been on for a while. I've been frantically trying to clear the decks at work before the holiday. I had hoped to have things sorted so I could have a quiet week before Easter to pack and get organised but no such luck.
Thanks for the advice abvout paying for stuff.
We're travelling down to Gatwick in a hire car on the Saturday and staying overnight in a hotel. And I have persuaded one of our daughters to pick us up from Harwich on return - assuming she doesn't forget.
Is anyone pre-ordering a wine package? Is it worth it, do you think? I'm not sure exacty how often we'll eat in the main restaurant and how much elsewhere.
Sue
Just been reading through to catch up - and it's so nice to have been missed! Thank you.
I see there are motor racing fans out there which will give my OH something to talk about when we meet.
Also, I couldn't see anywhere that Tina said her tickets had arrived. I did read through twice. Maybe it's that extra glass of wine! Hope you have them now.
Has anyone thought about how/where we might actually be able to meet up?
Sue
Glad to see you are still with us, as to our tickets, no they have still not arrived, Roy has been on to RCI and Virgin and they say not to worry you will get them, but i am begining to worry now. did you manage to upgrade your plane seats or did you not bother. we looked at the globespan site and saw that you can prebook extra luggage weight £15 for ten kilos but you have to book it through RCI who want £5 per kilo which i think compared to Globespan is way over the top so i will stick to the 20 kilos.Hi Bill glad to see another F1 fan aboard lol, will have to ask the font of all knowledge Nick if he knows or can find out if we will be able to watch the race in China on the 19th and the one in bhrain on the 26th on board somewhere.talking of Nick. Nick are you certain that there will be tea and coffee makeing facilities in the cabin, i have looked at the vidio of the JS cabins but cant see any and i have to have my PG tips to wake up with lol.
only 9 days left YEA.
Tina
Tina tea & coffee facilities as far as i know its a new perk for junior suites but dont quote me on it i read it somewhere on a review site i hope so because like you i enjoy real tea not the stuff the americans pass off as tea.
As for F1 i have been looking to see if ESPN sports tv have coverage as we get this station on our tv's in the cabin. But not sure yet cant find listings for those dates as of yet i will let you now if i find anything.
well thats the last friday i have to work until we are away only 4 more days at work cant wait.
Nick
I haven't had a chance to think about the plane, so I've not bothered. At least we have a cabin and it'll take me enough time to sort currency etc and get packed.
Thanks for the info about the excess baggage. Like you I'm not going to bother. I always take too much anyway and it won't matter coming back, so I can buy loads if I want.
Sue
Spent the day holiday shopping... :-)
Will need another one tomorrow I think!
We all set to go ?
Drew
Got my tickets today so now we are all set barr the packing, but Roy does that as he is better at it than me so I dont even have to worry about that. what time do you all think you will be at the checking in desk? I am getting very anxious now as i am not a good traveller Air or Road so this will not be a good week for me, I wont have any peace untill we are actually on the ship, that is the only mode of transport that i am completly comfortable with, but I wont let my fear of traveling stop me from going anywhere. see you all soon
Tina
Nick and Bill Malaysia tommorrow 9am
I have also spent the day shopping now phil thinks i have got to much to take never mind he will have to travel light lol.
yes i will be watching tomorrow at 9.
the weather looks good in the southern caribbean its been 100 plus this week lets hope it cools a little. Anyway time to go and see if i can fit a few more clothes in the case im sure phil can cope with a T shirt, shorts and a suite for 3 weeks.
nick
Has anyone from RCCL let you know that the Windjammer cafe will be out of service for your TA? They are going to refurbish it during your cruise. Some irate passengers posting on another board. FYI.
I hope the last post has been miss informed however i have emailed RCI asking what is going on and what compensation they are going to offer if it is true so i will let you know as soon as i do.
Nick
I don't want to rain on your parade but I think it is good to know these things ahead of time.
No not at all thanks for the info i would rather know in advance than find out when i go for my breakfast lol. well at least i can keep smiling about it its not the end of the world but would have been nice to be informed by RCI rather than hear say well i have emailed RCI so we shall see what they have got to say thanks again
Nick
According to posters on the roll call who have received notification from RCCL , breakfast and lunch buffet will be set up on one floor of the main dining room and buffet dinner will be in the Solarium.
yes i have just read the same postings that dosen't really help if you don't like eating in the main dining room of an evening the solarium is not really the place for that. oh well not a lot we can do about it just hope they are willing to give some sort of compo free drinks for the two weeks would be nice lol.
I have just got off the phone to RCI and yes it is true the windjammer will be closed during our transatlantic and they will be providing alternate dining arrangements breakfast and lunch will be served on deck 4 of the dining room buffet style. And the usual breakfast and lunch will be served on deck 5 dining room waitress service. evining buffet style dining will be served in the solarium and there will be pool side buffets during the day weather permiting. They are offering no compo but if we complain through customer services post cruise they will take each case on an individual basis, or if there are problems during the cruise they will advise us on a day to day basis a letter explaining this is in the post apparentaly.
Also all the cabins that are effected by the noise ie grand suites are closed. So if you want an upgrade and dont mind the noise nows your chance lol.
But we dont need to let this spoil our cruise im sure between the lot of us we will be able to laugh it off. its not the end of the world just the windjammer.
Nick
Now that we have all agreed that the w/j fiasco is not going to spoil the cruise lets all get in happy holiday mode. I only have 2 1/2 days to go at work i booked a half day for thursday (well it is my bday) Tina i read your post on the other website i agree.
still not heard anything back from my email to RCI but i will let you know as soon as i hear anything.
see you all at the airport 5 days to go
