Hi everyone,
Bill and I are from Leicester. Been here almost 10 years. Previously, North Wales and Chester but I was born in Great Yarmouth and husband is from Liverpool.
I can't believe it's so close. So much to do and so little time...
Sue
No im not that bothered about flying 9hrs sounds better though, we can call it just a drink to toast the holiday then lol.
Champagne breakfast sounds good :-)
When do we get our travel documents - anyone know? Drew
HI
I Forgot to ask has everyone completed their online check in details with royal caribeean and printed their set sail pass even though we haven't been asked for them before when boarding we have always completed them online i think its to save you time filling out forms when you get there
nick
I can't get onto the RCI site with the reference numbers I've been given by Virgin. Is anyone else having problems?
Sue
this is phil,i thought i was missing out on all the chit chat for vision on the 12th april,so here i am. sounds like weve got a right little posy.it should be so much fun. i hope you all like the new seekers because yiu wil after you meet me lol.the rci website is tricky, nick is the one to ask.I am a retired aircraft engineer ,wing anti-ice valve for airbus A320s.me and nick have been on legand, brillience, navigator, liberty of the seas, and once on carnival victory, never again. DREW about the champayne breakfast, thanks for the offer, lol.vision is very much like the legend which was very nice, we went through the panama canel.yet vision has no golf course, yet is 9 thousand tons bigger, but the schooner bar is the best of the fleet. i have anew dvd corder so i expect you wil all get i copy of the cruise when we get back.
phil
to do your seapass on the virgin letter the reference no beginning with 9 is for the first 7 days and the file no beginning with 4 is for the folowing 2 weeks. you have to do then on thier own as if for 2 seperate bookings, try that....... phil
me and nick live in redditch,i was born there and nick is from sutton coldfield, what us redditch people call back street brumies. he tells people we live by birmingham, i say we live by statford upon avon lol. both are 15 miles away, and jacki smith is our mp
Tina
we dont need any visas. ive been on 3 ,2 week holidays to the dominican and i never took malaria tabs.if you dont do the sea pass it just takes you longer to check in.phil
I'm trying to catch up with the messages, so firstly, Nick - meeting up pre-flight sounds good, although I'm not so sure I'll be awake enough for drinks. I don't normally come round till about 10!
Phil - thanks for the advice about the seapass. How did you work out those were the numbers to use? Even so, still won't work for me. Virgin have sent some more numbers and insist that they're correct but it still won't work. I'll give RCI a call myself when I get a minute.
And finally, Tina - like Phil, I've been to the Dominican Republic for holidays and didn't need malaria tablets.
And a question: How did anyone manage to upgrade seats on the flight? We didn't get the option. We did book very late though so maybe they're all taken.
Regards to all
Sue
So many questions to answer... :-)
Sea Passes - It was tricky to complete the on-line registration, but I got RCCI to send me a step by step guide, and it was easy with their help. You get 2 reference numbers, the first for the Caribbean cruise, the second for the Transatlantic cruise. Both my reference numbers began with '9', with only the last digit being different. Go to the 'before you board' section, choose 'on line registration', enter your surname, ref number etc, and then you begin. Make sure you have your passport/travel insurance details for all passengers. You have to do this twice, for both cruises, then you can print off the 2 seapasses. Even after I had done this, I still couldn't print them off, so another email to RCCI, they did something at their end, and then I could print finally print them off!
Champagne Breakfast - sure Phil, a full english with Veuve Cliquot is how I always start my day :-)
New Seekers? Now you're worrying me..... Are you a one man New Seekers tribute band? :-)
I understand that there is no need for Visa's for the Dom Rep or any island that we visit.
Premium Economy - I also just got the receipt for the premium economy seat - no further details, maybe we'll get something with the tickets.... I expect it will just be increased leg room and free booze..... If you want to upgrade, give Virgin a call to see if they have any left... £100 per person, that's how I did it. They didn't advertise it.
I've not booked any trips yet, like you, I've looked and not decided, I might even leave it on the day of arrival.... not sure yet.
This will be first cruise with RCCI, so looking forward to comparing.... Sounds like you guys have spent a lot of time in the schooner bar on the legend....:-)
Drew

about extra leg room seats from what i can tell for £40.00 the seats are the exit seats and bulk head seats then £100 for premium econemy.
online check in you will need to call RCI for both reference numbers one for the sailing on the 12th and the other for the 19th virgin only give you one of them for whatever reason and yes you are correct they begin 9......... once you have them go to RCI web site click on before you board then online check in and away you go after completion you have to wait a few days before you can print them. I printed ours yesterday
oh and check out maho beach on you tube
19 days and counting
Nick
Have to give Virgin a call and see what we can get. Haven't so far found them to be very efficient but worth a go.
A question for you seasoned cruisers on another topic, what goes on during the transatlantic days, other than the usual eating and drinking? I could eat and drink all day but probably better for my health if I don't.
Sue
Transatlantic days.... On my previous transatlantic cruise, it was great to sunbathe, use the pool and generally relax.
However, the ship organised lots of activities from cookery classes/tour of kitchen/dancing on decks/quizzes/movies/etc etc
If the weather is good, I intend spending most of my time on deck relaxing with the odd g&t or two :-)
Drew :-)
