Hi Sue. We have only done transatlantic once and that was on the Ocean village the only time it docked at Southampton and there was always somthing to do for those who wanted it. on that trip we came back via the Azores (bit grotty)but we saw whales and sailed through what i think must have been the doldrums, the sea was as flat as a mirror, a bit scary for those of us who had never seen it before but it was amazing to see. I think that on this trip we must come a different way back so we might not see it which is a shame. but we were never bored on the sea days.
Nick, when you do the sea pass and you input your credit card does this mean that you sign up to pre paid tips?.and where did you find the info on the airplane seats?. and Phill what do you mean by the new seekers, I can barley remember them and you are younger than me lol.Tina

i think you do not need to worry about cabin 4070 as the champayne bar does not stay open late ,your other cabin was however below the casino which is. and the restarant is no problem at all. i have been on legend of the seas which a sister ship of vision.cabin 4028 is also close to the theatre............phil

Been meaning to ask, why didn't you like the Carnival cruise?

17 days to go.... whooo hooo ! :sun2

HI ALL

Drew the carnival victory where to start well first impressions was brash over the top decor then to our cabin, inside cabin very noisey and things rattled pictures doors you name it. We did get a upgrade but only after phil camped out in the reception for the night, but we had to move again on second week because of cabin allocation. The ship was over run with kids the main pool area was like a playground the pool and bar at the back of the ship was nice no kids allowed. I think carnival are realy aimed at the young ameican market (party till u puke). However the food in the dining room was excellent and we did meet some great friends onboard one couple who we have been away with on three cruises since. To sum it up it just wasnt RCI :sun2

Nick and Phil. Lucky you, we havent got ours yet but hopefully they are in the pipeline. what are you doing with your dog are you puting him in kennels or do you have a dog sitter. we have 2 dogs a yorkie/russell cross and a chinese crested/ russell cross (lucy and tilly) ours have to go in to kennels as we have no one close enough to look after them for us but they dont seem to mind it. Sue ,have you sorted your cabin problem yet? Nick, i was looking at the globespan site and somewhere on it it said that you can book meals, I would have thought that on a long haul flight meals would have been included, what do you think. one day nearer to the tropical sunshine, yippie

HI ALL

Tina our dog (Dexter) is going to stay with his brother, friends of ours who we got him from so its like a holiday for him. We have been told that as our flight is a RCI chartered flight RCI will provide in flight meals so we shall have to see what they come up with flight meals are not usually that good anyway. sue lets hope you have got your cabin sorted .

HI All

That's not fair! Where are my tickets ! :-)

Yup, flights include meals - whatever they may be.... so no need to book on line etc,,, in fact the flight doesn't show on flyglobespan's website, as this is specially chartered for RCCI.

Right, I'm off to 'Banana Republic' to buy some holiday clobber.

Hi folks,

We got tickets too. Been out shopping already and probably have far too much for luggage allowance. Have to chuck out some of Bill's stuff - just don't tell him.

They swapped our cabin to #4040 from #4070 but the tickets say #4070. After the comments here about the champagne bar not staying open too late I'm not too bothered either way now.

Anyone have any advice about whether to take TCs or pay the bill by CC. I assume RCI will bill us in $. Also, I'm assuming the ports will all take $. Last cruise we did, we were okay just with $ but different ports this time. If anyone knows different and that we'll need some other local currency, I'd be interested to know. Of course, we will need Euros later. At the moment, I can't think past the caribbean. All thoses extra days will come as a lovely surprise. As one holiday seems to end... so another one starts. Great!!!

Hi Sue
Glad to hear that your cabin has been sorted out, got your tickets aswell, we havent got ours yet, I wonder if its because we havent got our sea pass yet. we did all the internet thingy but it said they wernt ready yet, we havent made up our mind yet how to take our money, most times we take travelers cheques, more than likeley do the same this time. how are you getting to Gatwick, we are driving down to Harwich the day before, leaving the car at a hotel for the length of the cruise and then driving back from Harwich to Lincolnshire rather than going all the way back to Gatwich and then driving to lincolnshire.I hate traveling especially in the car I get so stressed thats why we are going the day before so we can take our time. one more day nearer cant wait. got to go to bed early tonight as we are getting up at six in the morning to watch the Gran Prix. see you soon

Hi Tina

I'd drop RCCI an email saying you can't print off your seapass even though you've completed all the information.

This happened to me, and after emailing them, they came back same day and asked me to try again as they'd 'fixed' it.

Sure enough, when I went back to the website I could then print the seapass off.

I'm away from home this weekend, so maybe my tickets have arrived.... will check tomorrow! I love getting travel documentation ( big kid really! )

Best Rgds,

Drew
