Since joining HT, I always take detailed notes about the hotel I'm staying in, facilities in the room etc. Makes it easier to write a review!

I highly recomend wherever we go on our holidays this year that we ALL take some of this with us...
That's made my day - thank you.
Added bonus son no 2 loves doing stuff like that and it kept him "quiet" while he wrote it all down in a book just a daft little thing but it might be useful for families .
Hi Chivas
My husband also thought it was very funny, I had to print a copy off for him to take to work (a bank) where the staff also found it very funny! One girl even took it to fax off to a customer.
Thanks for making us laugh so much.

A tip that I use for packing is for each layer of clothes you put in the case put a layer of plastic i.e. the plastic cover off your dry cleaning or just a few plastic carrier bags. When you get to your destination your clothes will be crease free. My sister in law thought I was mad when she saw me doing this one time and really took the p###, but she soon adopted the habit herself when she had to re-iron most of her families clothes before they could wear it. You either bin the bags after unpacking or use them to wrap bottles/breakables in for the return journey, also good for wet swimming gear.
Rgds Jackie
thats a great idea, i hate having to re iron everything!!!
i wounder how it works
i also heard if you roll them it stops creases to, plus gives you more room
maybe i should try both
Layers of tissue paper also stop creasing, my mum always uses it (can be more costly though than plastic bags) Think I`ll try the plastic bags next time.
I've just got my lavender oil!
All I need to know now is how to make my 35kg suitcase 30kgs without taking anything out... any tips?
hi .drama queen.. yes its quite safe i do it when i have to on holiday.....regards...john-doe...
Thanks JohnDoe! I'll definatly be doing that then!
You asked for a tip regarding your luggage, tell your mum that she does not need to take all the stuff she wishes to take, that way you can put your stuff in hers
Not long for you now, cant wait for you to update me with the Gran Ventana, January seems ages away dont know I am going to cope.
Hey, only 72 sleeps for us for our summer hol, not as we are counting of course

I had 20 mins to kill the other afternoon in Blackpool and I had a wander in one of the many pound shops. I was amazed they had loads of brill things for holidays.
2 continental adaptors for £1, travel washing lines, travel size shampoos & conditioners (decent brands), sewing kits, suitcase straps, padlocks etc etc
Its worth having a look in these place - loads cheaper that high street stores.
Carmel
Carmel you've been ripped off!!!
Chivas
Actually last year from Poundland I got some hawaiian Tropic factor 15 which was £4 in all the other cheap shops! It was nearer £10 in boots!
Where I go (Bulgaria) they are £2 a go so I know they are appreciated.
Fancy comming along to the Dominican republid the week after I've arrived into my 2 week holiday? You're so generous.
We normally read 2 magazines on the plane (we= mum & I) then swap with a neighbour or someone in the hotel. We start saving weekly magazines 4-6 weeks before we go, and I save 2 months' cosmo mags! We normally swap with other holiday makers. Great way to get talking to people!
