Anyhoo!!!

I am trying to clean my snorkle mask and snorkle out... I have discovered that if I mix 3 lid fulls of mouthwash and some hot water, that makes a great solution for cleaning out your actual snorkle, it works abroad, doing this every few days keeps it clean, when it's finished soaking, pour some mixture down the tube of the snorkle and empty it out! It gets rid of the salty taste.

Now, all I need is a magic tip for cleaning out my mask!

Is there a tip to make the next 19 days go a bit quicker? This time in 19 days (ohh proper northerner!) I'll be doing my nails and packing my hand luggage! :D

I thought you were supposed to use spit to clean the masks? Thats what that guy in Jaws did!

dramaqueen.. rob is into this diving lark and he uses toothpaste for his diving mask. haven't a clue why but he and his other diving buddies swear by it.

Sorry to dig this up, but thanks Val, sorry I didn't read it before... but I used toothpaste and it worked a treat!

And Chivas: Ewwwww! I have heard of that before though... i thought it was a joke! Handy tip for when I'm out in the sea!

hi all

toothpaste also works well to clean your jewelery as well i use my old toothbrush or a nail scrub to get in the hard to reach areas.

you are completely and utterly barmy but i am glad you have got rid of your orange feet. next time you put it on try to put vasoline on the soles of your feet and the palms of your hands this will act as a barrier i use this when tinting peoples eyelashes and brows to stop the tint from staining the skin and causing panda eyes.

 thanks

I'll remember the vaseline thing next time :o

vaseline is good also for toe post shoes and flip flops if they rub put a little vaseline on your foot and they just slide on them istead of rubbing.

have just come back from boots and i spent a whopping £30.00 all on holiday bits and bobs. i only went in for flight earplugs!!!
any way i came across compeed foot products buy three for the price of two. i bought the dry and cracked skin cream for heels, elbows and knees, anti blister stick and small gel plasters as i will no doubt be walking quite a lot in cyprus i will let you all know how good they are when i return on 1st of july!!

Compeed blister plasters are FANTASTIC, I've been using them for years and they really do work to heal and protect blisters especially in the heat. Plus they don't come off in the water

They've expanded the range over the years and now do all sizes of plaster along with various foot creams etc.

I never go on any holiday/city break without them :D

My boyfriend Tim would just like to say that he used the compeed blister things whilst trekking accross arctic sweeden and up kevnerkaiser (god knows how you spell it- darn dyslexia), and if they worked whilst on the terrain there he reckons they'd work anywhere.

Changing the advice... For mozzie repellent, I would advise not buying anything here but buying once you're "out there". In my experience it's a helluva lot cheaper and more effective!

I agree about blister plasters, I always take some in assorted sizes with me. A few years ago I had a stopover in Singapore on my way to Oz and a combination of the heat with some new sandals gave me blisters on the soles, heels and toes. I was in agony and could hardly walk. I went to a chemist in Sydney and he recommended the plasters, I got immediate relief and ended up walking all over the City without any discomfort. I wouldn't be without them now.

When packing roll your clothes up like sausages. It is good for space reasons and also they don't crease as much.

If any of you (like myself) enjoy a tipple when you're away try taking a Milk Thistle tablet before you go out, it seems to stop hangovers. Just been to buy mine and thought I'd share this tip with you.

Heres to hangover free holidays

Milk Thistle is also amazing at helping PMS pain and strops- my mum swears by it!

Vitamin B6 tablets are also great for PMS. You can start taking them about ten days before until cycle finished, I just take one every day all the time.
