Following on from the alcohol gel tip.....the yellow gel from Superdrug (same price, same product, different colour/aroma) smells nicer!
Pippy
If you are going to a country where you can't put loo roll down the toilet, just take a pack of nappy sacks and pop the used paper into one before throwing it in the bin.
Shell
Chivas serious one, note you still have to mention alcohol Mmmm
2. Take a quarter bottle of brandy or whiskey to the airport and add to a bottle of lemonade purchased from the airport lounge. This ensures you won't be panic stricken at the thought of getting on to the plane, nor will you have to suffer the on-board meal as you will sleep through the whole flight.
You're my kind of holiday maker Parky, I like it!!!
Best tip i was ever given was to plug your continental adaptor on to an extension lead , the one with about 3 /4 sockets so you dont have to keep changing the adaptor and you can plug in more than one electrical item at a time... hairdryer , c.d player etc.. cheers paddy
Kazee, lol
Some excellent ideas. Thought I would share some of mine with you.
Essentials I always take
Bottle opener
Corkscrew
Sharp knife
Ice cube bags & ice lolly moulds
Sachets of instant cappuccino (or similar) great if you arrive in the night and have no milk or sugar
Inflatlable cushions - loads of uses - sunbathing, instant headrest in car etc
Plasters & TCP
Sewing kit
Large plastic bags with zip tops - great for wet swimming things
Travel washing line & pegs - superdrup do a great one
I probably will be able to think of more things after I have posted this - I know I always take too much - my 40 euros excess baggage charge on my last trip is testimony to that

The washing line in the above post reminded me of another, the little plastic hangers with the pegs attached for smalls are great for hanging out your swimwear, they don't weigh anything and are easy to pop in your suitcase and as they come with a hanger you can hang them indoors if necessary
very good advice, especially the pegs ones... last year, I took a bright pink 'little miss naughty' bikini, as you do, and hung it out on the balcony, tied the bottoms in sort of a knot on the balcony... next morning, the dye had run! We had a very pink floor. I apologised to the maid and left her a pretty tip, she was OK about it, but I was so embarrassed!
Theres no need to take clothes pegs, just take a ball of string, twist 2 strands together the length of your balcony, tie the ends and just affix washing between the 2 strands.
We always take peppermint tea bags
firstly we drink it anyway first thing in the morning, even when we are at home. But secondly, if you feel bloated or have an upset stomach the peppermint relieves the bloated feeling and also calms the upset stomach.
Therefore, once you are feeling better you will be like this smilie

My normal position on holiday is this followed by this
and normally ending up like this

I've posted this before, but if you wrap the bottle in Kitchen Roll and keep it wet - either pool or sea water will do - as long as it stays wet, your water will stay cool.
If you have warm water, this will also cool it.
I always take a small plastic funnel with me on holiday. It makes filling up small water bottles from large ones so much easier.
Here's a little tip, I've learnt to do.. It really saves time and effort when we get home from holiday and have all the horrible clothes washing to do..And we all hate the washing loads when we get home.....
Take a couple of carrier bags with you when to go on holiday to start you off, then condense your shopping bags as you go, giving you more carriers.
Each carrier can then be filled with whites, darks or colours.. when the bag is full, tie up and throw into suitcase... continue this method thoroughout holiday and fill up that suitcase ...
When you get home it's quicker to find all the same colours to wash together as you just empty the bags into your machine !! Leaving the clean clothes to be put away...
Anybody else have any tips ?
regards

How about giving all your clothes to the laundry nearest to your hotel the day before you travel home then all will be neatly pressed for when you arrive home and at 1 Lira per item or less that is a bargain.
I must admit i always use the laundry before coming home - washed, dried & ironed for next to nothing - You'd be mad not to, Makes coming home that wee bit more bearable!!
LA
Now that sounds a good idea.Is there a Laundrette near the Miray hotel in Icmeler?
We have a washing machine in our apartment, so we do the washing as we go along!
