Hi - my girlfriend and I have 2 daughters, 10 and 11 going on 18. I used to go to Greek islands all through the 80's and early 90's - Crete, Lesbos, Corfu, Skiathos, Rhodes, Skopelos, Alonissos, Symi... but this will be my first venture there with children. I prefer quiet, traditional places, and even speak a little Greek - but of course they both like lots of activities, eg water parks, that sort of thing, and excursions.
So a compromise would be ideal, but if impossible, then where would be a good place to take them where they'd be unlikely to get bored?
Much appreciated
Roger
Hersonissos on Crete has everything they need to keep you sane.
We love 'traditional' Greece but take a look at Zante. We went to Alykanas last year and expected the worst but we had a great time. Our son was 12 and our accommodation and the resort were great for kids of all ages. We met a couple with a lad the same age and they raved about Tsilivi (possibly better than Alykanas). We are looking to go to Kos this year (another resort we would normally avoid) but it looks great for people of all ages. When our son was younger, our criteria was different but now he is nearly 13 we look for a resort to suit him and not us. Have a great time wherever you choose. Gx
