worried about September weather

The weather channel website and met office website state that it's either isolated thunderstorms or scattered thunderstorms. These can come and go within an hour. I have been watching these for the weather forecasts for the last week - they forecast storms for all of this week but it changes day by day! VirginPaul out there at mo - say's weather beauty!

Keep your chin up! I'd still rather be there than here. Not too sure wether you can rely to well on Tenerife weather either - global warming I guess.

Today 23 degrees at 9.00 am and blue, blue, blue....

Last night I was at a barbecue in El Toro (near Santa Ponca) and at about 10.00 pm the heavens truly opened. Over the next 45 minutes about 8 or 9 inches of water fell - more of a waterfall than rain. The pyrotechnics were stunning too. The streets filled up to well over the kerbs and driving became nigh on impossible!

This morning you wouldn't believe it - its glorious again. I guess that is an 'isolated thunderstorm'.

Some political party here is probably claiming that they organised the months rainfal to all come in 45 minutes to benefit visitors!!! :lol:

Rain showers today and mainly overcast. Needed it though to clear the "muginess"

Changeable at the moment, but still periods of sunshine.

If you go on the weatherchannel.com it gives great forecast for next week - Tuesday only showery day for Porto Colom! That's on the East Coast - report for Palma same too!

Saturday showery with wind tho - boo hoo! that's when we fly!

Sunny and between 84 - 86 deg. rest of the week! Yipee!

Wahoo! Have you seen the forecast for next week!!! If you go on weather.com you can enter various places around majorca - alcudia, manacor, poto colom, palma etc - it gives hourly, weekend, 10 day and month reports - it's fab!

Saturday has light rain, maybe a thunderstorm in afternoon - but then sunshine with a few clouds for the rest of the week!!!!!!!!!!!!! :pele

Lets just hope they're accurate forecasts!!

I have been checking the weather 2 like a hawk I am going to HVV IN Can Picafort on tue weather looks fab next week I look on the bbc website it seems 2 always be the most accurate.

I know what you mean, I have got the bbc website in my favourites and checking it on a daily basis. We go in the half term hols in october, so am keeping an eye on it. Let us all know when you get back what it was like

Got back from Magaluf yesterday, we had seen forecasts for thunderstorms for the week, I guess they were right but dont panic too much as the thunderstorms came along in the evening (every evening!), then Thursday we had some rain, Friday most of the day it rained and then Saturday back to Sunshine. Never seen thunderstorms like them before, but we still had a good holiday and all managed to get a suntan!

I came back from Cala Bona on Saturday. We had two weeks of perfect sunshine apart from Friday when it was quite overcast. It rained on Thursday night and Friday night and we had some amazing thunderstorms!

I came back from alcudia on saturday and we had 2 and a half bad days. thunderstorms on a night and quite miserable and cold during the day. It spoilt the holiday for me. Looking at other parts of the island it doesnt seem like it was that bad.

I don't think Alcudia got the worst of the weather, the rainfall figures for the area were lower than other parts of the island, especially the west coast. Unfortunately it is the case that you can get storms in September and yes the odd day or two of rather poor weather. It happens every year at some time during the month.

I have just returned from Can Picafort near Alcudia on tue we went from 19th - 26th and had good weather except sunday we had a thunderstorn but cleared within a couple of hours and monday was overcast with some light rain but overall good sunshine and temperture in high 30's.
